Hello Shaja,
I think, you can go to online tool of CIC website to apply for new work permit or study permit. Try to apply for new work permit. It will ask you few question & as you have got PER in your FSW application, It will give you option to apply for open work permit. I have not applied for one yet but planning to apply for it within few months & recently checked that option. Hope that will help. let me know if you need more information.
Hi gaurav,
What is your status here in Canada? Are you studying and working?

Plz refer to following link. As your application is approved for FSW (PER) - your can apply for open work permit.
Hi gaurav,
That's what I knew also but the immigration lawyer told me though I got PER under FSW, it doesn't mean that I am not "approved in principle" for Permanent Resident yet even if I got PER. He told me it does not apply for FSW and I still need the LMO :(. What is your category? And when are you planning to apply for open work permit?

Shaja,

If you want to get an open work permit as a PER holder, ;
* You must currently be in Canada,
* You must currently have a valid work permit, and
* Your current work permit will be expired within 4 months.
See below for more details;
* http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2012-12-17.asp

If you have a co-op visa or a working holiday visa, you can work without getting new work permit. If you will get a post graduate work permit and then will start your job, you can work with that PGWP.

Otherwise, your employer must get LMO for your work permit.

As you know from web page(s) Gaurav informed, you can apply for an open work permit if you meet eligibility, even if you can't apply as a PER holder.
For example, if your spouse got a close work permit as a full-time (non-seasonal) skilled worker, you might get an open work permit.

We, this thread members are applicants for FSW with an arranged employment. We are living and working in Canada. We already have gotten a valid work permit before we filed our FSW application. Some of us have a post graduate work permit, some others have a close work permit.

Sorry if I have misunderstandings.

Hope this message helps you...

Hi friends,

I heard that a FAM applicant got an e-mail (second medical request) from Manila this month.
It seems that Manila works currently even if PASFO/CIC announced Manila has walked out. I hope other offices do as well.

Rhen,

If you don't mind, may I ask you when Manila sent CoPR and your passport with visa?
I'd like to know whether it was before July 29th or not...
Thanks,

hi mysteaka,

My Visa on my passport was issued July 23rd.. I received my CoPR and passport Aug. 1st and the package was dated July 29th.. i heard about the news last June regarding the strike, which my visa office is included on that so i was really worried about the delay of the processing.. but surprisingly I received thru email my PPR June 27th and send it the next day.. MVO received it July 15th.. on the email it will take 90days to the passport to get back but luckily it only took 16days for my CoPR and my passport with visa.

Thanks for your reply:) Your message is so helpfull and giving me hope :)
Thanks and Conglats again!
