Yeah you are close to the 6 months. Write to them after 6 months.
you are lucky you did get a 2nd AOR from your visa office. Unfortunately for those of us who applied to Ottawa, there is no 2nd AOR.

When we have to coont 6 Months? when we have applied for PR or when we have received AOR?

Hi ravalashish79,

It's 1-888-242-2100.
According to the CIC's webpage (Contact us) : If you live outside Canada, Canadian visa offices can answer questions about CIC services and programs.

Because you said "my application was received by CIC on 26th April 2012 & they have started processing it on 23rd January 2013", I'd like to recommend you to send inquiry to your local Visa Office at London.

VO : Visa Office. For processing times, see [url=http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp]"Processing times for federal skilled worker applications" on CIC website
. CIC explained that "Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.". More details can be shown in Help Centre on CIC.

PER : Positive Eligibility Review - An email which shows your file number and so on. It will be sent from CIO if your application passes the initial eligibility review. See the other thread titled "What is PER", a senior's website or this pic for more details.

AOR : Acknowledgment of Receipt - An email which informs that your full documents have been received by visa office and has been put in queue for processing. Sometimes this is called "2nd AOR" or "Waiting letter" ; In this case, "1st AOR" means "PER". See the other thread titled "what is 2nd AOR" for more details.
You can also see the 2nd AOR from Vienna Visa Office (Thanks Doni!)

MR : Medical Request - An email (or a regular mail) that requests you to take medical exams. It might be included in the Initial Assessment. Manila Office seems send MR together with 2nd AOR. (Tanks rhen ongsico for the information!)

PPR : Passport Request or Confirmation of Permanent Residence - An email (or a regular mail) that requests you to send VO your passport. If you are a citizen of the countries or territories listed in CIC website, you probably receive a "Passport Request". If you are from the visitor visa exemptions country, you maybe receive a "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" instead of the passport request and then you can go landing directly and immediately.

I have question regarding VO Ottawa .. do you guys have any idea currently Ottawa office processing application of FSW2 category of which year 2011 or 2012 ?

As far as I know no one after Feb 2012 have got their medical request from Ottawa.

Can someone help me by providing some details that when can I expect my Acknowledgement Receipt & the medical call as my permanent residence application was received on April 26, 2012 & they have started processing my application on January 23, 2013. I have already received confirmation mail from FSW-Centralized_Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca Dated 03rd May 2012, stating my UCI & application number. They have also confirmed that they have received CAD 1,100/-Dated: 30th April 2012. Your earliest reply will be appreciated.

Dear no one can guess exact situation any how have you been asked for some updated documents from employer or updated application kit??????? if yes then after this process it takes almost 4 month to medical.....
 
No till date they have not asked me any documents!! Should I send them an email asking them about the status of my application??
