. CIC explained that "Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) calculates processing times from the day CIC receives an application to the day it makes a decision on the application.". More details can be shown in Help Centre on CIC.
PER	:	Positive Eligibility Review - An email which shows your file number and so on. It will be sent from CIO if your application passes the initial eligibility review. See the other thread titled "What is PER", a senior's website or this pic for more details.
AOR	:	Acknowledgment of Receipt - An email which informs that your full documents have been received by visa office and has been put in queue for processing. Sometimes this is called "2nd AOR" or "Waiting letter" ; In this case, "1st AOR" means "PER". See the other thread titled "what is 2nd AOR" for more details. You can also see the 2nd AOR from Vienna Visa Office (Thanks Doni!)
MR	:	Medical Request - An email (or a regular mail) that requests you to take medical exams. It might be included in the Initial Assessment. Manila Office seems send MR together with 2nd AOR. (Tanks rhen ongsico for the information!)
PPR	:	Passport Request or Confirmation of Permanent Residence - An email (or a regular mail) that requests you to send VO your passport. If you are a citizen of the countries or territories listed in CIC website, you probably receive a "Passport Request". If you are from the visitor visa exemptions country, you maybe receive a "Confirmation of Permanent Residence" instead of the passport request and then you can go landing directly and immediately.

Hi,

I didn't find the clear answer... but I suppose it depends.

• If you didn't order/get PCC yet and getting PCC is not so easy, sending your PCC without request is threatens to make your processing screwed... I think.
• If you can request PCC (your Police Certificatioin) twice or more, and you will get 2nd PCC easy and fast, sending your PCC with other documents probably makes your processing time faster.
• If you already ordered/got your PCC, I'd like to recommend you to send your PCC as soon as possible.

An applicant said that when she received an interview request, she ordered the CAIPS (kinda GCMS notes) in order to know the reason of the interview.
Because the CAPIS showed that the officer has some questions about her working experience, she sent some additional documents (that shows answers of the officer's questions) to Manila without a request. After that, her interview was waved.
Therefore, if you submit your PCC now, you maybe avoid a dead time.

2 PR holders whose VO was Manila said that they had sent their PCC with their applications, but Manila asked them to send PCC again.
One of them asked the police office when she received that order from Manila, the police officer informed her that the police office can issue the PCC only once and she have to submit "a letter from Manila which includes her name" to issue the 2nd PCC.
The letter didn't include her name, so she asked Manila. However, Manila didn't respond at that time. 3-4 month later, Manila ordered her to send PCC again. She made inquiry again and again... but no response. Finally, she found the letter format by her self, made a list as "a letter include her name" by herself, and then submit it with an original letter from Manila to the police office. She also need another 2 months for getting new PCC.

As I heard from some seniors, "Manila basically work faster as same as other visa office, but if the application has some gaps or unclear things, Manila's work is the worst. Also, they lost the application documents often."

Please note that the additional documents for ANY TYPE of application may be submitted by regular mail, courier, or drop-box, but due to the volume of correspondence received at the Manila office, Manila won't send an acknowledgement of receipt for documents and information received. Ethnicity: Hindu (Gujarati). Educational Qualification: B.COM. I have applied for Permanent Residence Visa outside Canada under Federal Skilled Worker category now my question is my application was received by CIC on 26th April 2012 & they have started processing it on 23rd January 2013, so my question are as below.

a. Within how many days I can expect my acknowledgement letter?
b. After receiving acknowledgement letter with in how many days my interview & medical will be arranged?
c. Interview will be followed or exempted?
d. My Employment is already arranged in Ontario & my scores for IELTS are Listening 5.0, Reading 4.0, Writing 5.5, Speaking 5.5 Total Overall Band Score is 5.0 which was cleared in October 2011, will my same IELTS result be considered or I need to reappear again for my IELTS exams?
e. What all documents I need to take along with me for an interview?
f. My application was done through my Consultant in Ontario so is there any chances of rejecting my application?

Usually medicals come exact 2 months from AOR. It has been experienced that it is sent to applicant on Tuesdays of the 8th week from AOR>

Hello Ashish,

The major point to be noted in you case will be
1) You are not in India for 7 years - Police Verification
2)Your current job & experience - Related to AEO, what is your NOC on AEO matter as lot of AEO are fake and Immigration officer are strict on verifications
3) IELTS score - Its too low ! But I dont think it has major impact on your app becoz u have AEO, but if there is some problem in AEO acceptance this score will not help you to be processed in FSW class and your file may not qualify for 67 points
4) As of now if your fees is deducted and you have received PER you shouldn't worry.
