Hello ds3010,

Just in my view...
I think if the job title is same as the titles in noc list, it's better... but it's not necessary.
More important thing is your job duties your letter shows.

Before I came to Canada, I worked for an information technology and was in charge of NOC 2172 to 2175 at the same time, as one position. It is standard in my country.
My previous manager wrote all of my job description. As for my job title, he also wrote "1. Software engineer including rolls of Web programmer and Application programmer" and "2. Assistant Manager of the Department of XXXXXXX"...
As you know, these job title are not same as NOC titles... but I got AOR.
I thought NOC code is usually 4-digit numbers. So I filled SCHEDULE 3 form (IMM 0008 3E) with 2173 as my NOC.
However, your's is 3-digit.
Maybe you know, there are some jobs under NOC 217 (http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=217). I think that CIC officer is probably checking/searching what job (title and NOC code) is most suite for you from your main duties.

Best of luck for you... I really hope you get AOR soon!
I think I am screwed, I did not include the job duties for my current job in Canada since the Arranged Employment Letter does not ask you for that:

Check Document 11 in the checklist. I did indeed include the job responsibilities for my previous jobs but not for the current one. Are they going to ask me for my current job responsibilities or am I going to get rejected? Has anyone here forgotten to include the current job responsibilities like I did?

I wish they let me know of whatever I did wrong in the application right away, instead of keeping me waiting like this.

Best Regards

So from January, CEC will be open for people with 1 year experience working in Canada instead of 2. That's good news for us.

Canadians and PR are out of work. Canada has an average national unemployment rate of 8%. I would advise people not to apply for immigration, because more PRs are making the job market more competitive and reducing the number of jobs available. Moreover people from third world country come here and totally abuse the system (extracting benefits from Government) and taking jobs at way low-wages and lowering the wage rate for other qualified hard working employee. We need to have everyone employed first before taking in immigrants.

Hi ds3010,
I think you're fine. Officer finds your responsibilities from IMM0008 3E (SCHEDULE 3) form.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I think your comment is very childish. I want to start by providing you with some sort of credit. It is not unknown that a high amount of immigrants (if I may quote you) abuse the system, nevertheless I think you refer to a few of them who apply as refugees in a dishonest way and it is very inconsiderate to blame the 8% of unemployment to that fact, actually the government is already taking action and refusing these kind of applications (I already know some people who got rejected and I totally agree with CIC).

This being said, I believe you commented in the wrong forum. This forum is mostly fed by people who are applying as Arranged Employees (just so you know those jobs include NOC A, NOC B and Level 0 jobs which are far away from being low-wages jobs). Do you really think that as soon as we get PR we will try to lower down our salary???? Do you think there are not born-canadians who abused the system???? if all you are saying is correct, then why does the government still invite skilled worker immigrants???

Finally, I don't know if the information you have in this forum is true or updated, but it seems you have not even landed to Canada!!!! I believe anyone in this forum knows, loves and takes care of Canada way more than you do.
