Now about your main question. You are mixing two different things. Right now, they are only asking for your passport. They will stamp the visa on your passport.

The day they stamp that visa on your passport and issue the Confirmation of PR, you will have 1 year from that day to land in Canada. Right?

So right now you may send your passport to them. If you want to buy sometime, give it a pause and send your passport few days later. First check the letter again. See how much time they give you to send your passports, usually its 60 days. If that is the case, then send your passport after 45 days. You bought sometime :) Let's say if they stamp it on October 25th 2013, you will have upto October 25th 2014 to complete your landing in Canada.

Once your passport reaches to Ottawa, after a week or so, they will issue COPR and stamp it with the Landing Visa - which is only SINGLE ENTRY and valid usually for a year.

So go ahead, take the job you just got in UK and land in Canada when you have already networked for a job and ready to hit the Canadian ground running.

I'm from a visa exempt country so they aren't asking for my passport but a copy and some passport photos.

If I'm understanding everyone correctly I need to land with COPR and get my visa stamped before April 21st next year?

Hi Jenn,

Firstly, Dilli was right. I checked with couple of friends who have already completed their landing.

All of them have confirmed that the COPR issue date is very close to the date when their Medicals were received at CIC. And COPR's validity is 1 year from that date.

So in your case, I guess your medicals were sent towards mid of April? If yes, then perhaps your COPR was issued in end April and will be valid up to same date in 2014.

So you're still good to accept the job offer in UK and work there upto mid April 2014.

I have received GCMS notes 30 min ago. There is a note from May 15th, in the end it says :

Appears to have accrued 24 months of Canadian full time work experience (5325 hours). Employment letter states job duties for Programmer/Analyst position but does not list job duties performed as an Intern Programmer. Review recommended. (Some stuff about language and education requirements are met here...) All required PCs received and there seems to be no A35/36/37 concerns evident. No additional docs required at this time.

What should I do, send an employment letter for previous "Intern Programmer" position or wait for them to do something. That person recommends a review but doesn't require a document. Seems like they are just looking for a reason to reject my application. If I get rejected again then I will not re-apply. This was my second time. Already over 1500 CAD spent on applications. CIC is making my life a lemon.

hi
my advice to u is to get another reference letter with detailed job duties on the other field of work and send to cic immediately thru email. failure to do so will definitely result in refusal. A lot of members here got rejected in the past due to lack or insufficient job duties listed in their ref. letter so it is very risky to apply without these information. Remember to quote ur personal information and explain the reason why ur sending another letter to them.

Hi everyone,

I received my MR on 11th, Biodata and RPRF on 12th.
They also asked for a police report from my home country, which I found it strange cause I came to Canada before turning 18 and I never visited any country for longer than 6 months.

But at least my eligibility is passed!

Hi edmsept12,

I can only speak based on my personal experience. Few months ago my GCMS notes saying they counted 11 months of work experience based on the date on my employment letter (though I applied when I accrued 13 months of experience). My status at that time was "Review recommended" as well..
I was so nervous back then thinking I will most likely get rejected, but I submitted an updated letter right away explaining my interpretation. Few months after I finally got my MR!
I highly recommend being proactive and send them another letter. The worst they can do with your letter is just ignoring it, but at least that's better than waiting for them to do something.
