On the status website, the application number gives you more information than the UCI (at least it does for us). And it gets updated at a glacial pace - for our application it only shows AOR, when we've already got sponsorship approval.
On a separate note, we experienced relatively quick turnaround time when we sent CIC an email about a misspelled name in our AOR. CIC wrote back within 24 hours confirming that it was just a typo in the AOR and that my son's name was spelled correctly in the application. Quite a relief, actually, because I can imagine a misspelled name in immigration papers could cause hours and hours of grief over many years!
Glad to see so many people getting their approvals!

Maybe we should sort the spreadsheet according to when CIC received the application. (just a suggestion) 
I've changed the spreadsheet the way it was before - sorted by the date your app was received. I agree that it's the clearest/easiest way to see everything.
