congrats Siva on the approval

Thanks K,
Actually the congrats should go the forum members!
for keeping through thick and thin!

Congratulations for everybody who got approval!

I got kind of nervous since they seem to be past our received date, so I asked my husband to call, which he reluctantly did (he thought we should wait until next week).
The person on the phone was nice and helpful. My husband confused her because he gave her the "wrong" address, so she couldn't confirm his identity. After a short discussion in which she tried to convince him that he didn't live where he lives, she asked him if he sponsored someone before.
That turned out to be it, she had his old information in the system from back when he sponsored his ex, including old address, old phone number...
The confusion was cleared, she was able to confirm his identity with the old information and she took some time updating his address and phone number before she looked up the process status. It turned out that they have been working on our application since nov 25, and not finished working on it yet. It will take a few more days. The call finished after she gave my husband his client ID, which apparently also dates from back when he sponsored his ex. I thought that was his ex's client ID, so we didn't include it in the application.

We'll wait till next week now before trying again. :)

congrats to all who got approvals

This is what I wrote earlier this evening. I was expecting nothing else, but apparently I have a reputation to receive news when I expect none:

My husband's sponsorship got approved on November 25! :D

This is how I found out:
After my husband left for a few hours of courses at his university, I realised that because my husband got his Client ID from sponsoring his ex, we could probably log in to ecas using his info. So I did (we authorized each other to do things in each other's name, so I knew I wouldn't brush him the wrong way doing this) and I was indeed able to log into ecas this way. My purpose was to see if they corrected my husband's info properly, as I expected nothing to have changed since the phone call. As I browsed through the info, appreciating how interesting ecas looked, the following caught my eye when I clicked the "In Process" thingy:

We received your application to sponsor (my name) on September 22, 2011.

We started processing your application on November 25, 2011.

We sent you a letter on November 25, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

This thing said there was a letter sent!?! How come the CIC person didn't know about a letter, and is it actually true? And if it is true, could it even... be here yet? After 10 minutes of trying to find my keys, I walked downstairs and opened our mailbox. There was one thin envelope in there, from CIC, addressed to my husband!!! I opened it and it contained the sponsorship approval letter!

So here I am, my husband won't be home for 3 hours and I'm bursting to tell him! I rolled up the letter and tied a silver ribbon around it with a bow. I will hand him a glass of wine when he gets in, and then the letter. I wonder if he understands what it is before reading it. He will probably not understand where the letter came from all so suddenly, lol! ;D

Wow! Indigo
Sure the CIC works mysteriously!
Once this has passed, I will miss these times!
Good for you, congrats!
