My husband has a work permit, which he obtained because he is doing a post doctoral fellowship at a Canadian University.

His visa expires Jan 2012, so I am pretty sure our case won't be approved by then. I was told by a CIC call centre person that he is able to renew his visa because it's not a straight up open work permit, but a special visa given to people to come develop their skills.

Even though CIC call centre told me this, I am still unsure, and I was wondering if anyone done it?

Any comments would be appreciated

My Husband and I have been married since Jan. 1st 2011. We finally got our application all finished and COMPLETE and sent in. We have a very routine application....no previous marriages....no kids....no medical or criminal issues....

Has anyone recently had there application processed? How long did it take to get the thumbs up? CIC website says 11 months but Ive heard from others in previous years that it only took about three months....any comments???...Our app was received Sept. 14th by the Mississauga office.

Please help me figure out if we really should expect the 11 months

imm happy that there are two from july applicant got there sponsor approval lower than 1 month eventhough they are part of 68 days approval as july 20,2011. cause they applied july20,2011 and got approved aug. 17,2011 that really fast.and one is from jul 22 and she approved 31 days only. i am still w8ting but i not hear yet about my application..
