Hi I also got decision made on the same day i.e May 31st, but not heard anything after that. Did you receive any sort of emails or ecas update after decision made?
Just wait for ecas status to change to " complete" Anytime it will change now, and you will receive PR card

May be it has gone for secondary review.

73 days is too long period.
I would advise you check call center and ask for info.

If your application is under secondary review, they would have asked you more info.
For me it has been 86 days since my application was received according to Canada Post and I have not received anything at all. No AOR, no email, no communication at all. I am sure there is no secondary review, I have only been outside of Canada for 7 days in the last 5 years and have been a PR for 30 years.
I just don't really know how to reach anyone through the call centre . The automated system asks for an application number, which I don't have yet, since they have not begun processing. How are people able to speak to someone? Should I do an online inquiry?

I have a family trip planned in mid July so it is very frustrating to wait . When I applied it said it would take 80 days to renew. Now it has been 86 days and they have not even begun processing. 117 days, and it keeps increasing. And a PRTD is not an option since we are only gone for 2 weeks and I can't give up my passport because we are travelling within Europe by plane.

For those whose applications have been delayed and no AOR for very longer period without reasons, I would suggest you guys to use webenquiry.

You do not need application number to use web enquiry.

What you need is Client ID number which you will have in your old PR card or COPR.

They would promptly reply to web inquiry.

Just FYI, I sent this to my MP today, and I would encourage anyone else to update to reflect their situation and send to your MP:

Hello Mr. xxx,

My wife is a Canadian permanent resident and has sent her application to renew such. She is a standard permanent resident who lives in xxx with my son and I (both Canadian citizens), files tax returns, and has fulfilled all obligations required of her. This is the current status of the residency renewal application:

  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on January 26, 2018.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 12, 2018.
  3. We started processing your application on April 12, 2018.
In viewing a popular immigration forum, our experience is far from unusual, with the only updates ever being posted now to be longer processing time:

Sept 2017 - Any PR Card renewal applications submitted

Sept 2017 - Any PR Card renewal applications submitted
Why can't you guys do something about it and bring our concerns to H.E Ahmed Hussain. When I applied it was ...

As well, if you review the CIC web site, you will see this:
Permanent Resident cards

Renewing or replacing a PR card
117 days
Working on applications received on February 5, 2018.
This seems like an unreasonable wait time for simple renewal of permanent residence. In this situation, you are essentially unable to travel until the card is renewed and in your hand. As you can see, we have been in this scenario for nearly 6 months.
If possible, can you please investigate as to the cause of these delays?
Thank you very much,
Did you get a reply in regards to this?

They're not much help wether it's web or phone.

You don't need an application number to get through the automated call- just type in anything, it will say it can't find you but keep listening for the option to press zero to speak with an agent. They can look you up by name and address or client number.

This is so frustrating.

It's been 94 days since they've received my application. I have not gotten any emails from them either. Has anyone waited a long time before hearing anything from them? What was the hold up?

If you type your application number ( if you have one ), it will give you the status correctly.

However if you do not have AOR, the only way is to talk Call center guys or send web inquiry with client ID.

Call the call center again and when it asks you for an application number, enter any digits then press #. It will tell you they can't find you and will give you the option to press 1. Then keep listening to press 0 to speak to an agent. They can look you up by your application details such as name and anddrwss and birthday to verify you that way or by your uci.

I called today because I haven't received any correspondence and found out that my application was opened yet a file was never created. I advise you call them today and find out

That's incorrect information. I didn't know my application number or UCI number before and they were able to verify me when I gave them personal information.

Did you get a reply in regards to this?
They asked me to come visit the office and sign an authorization form so that we can contact Citizenship and Immigration to enquire into your wife’s application status. However, by then, we had received the card so I told them it wasn't necessary.

Had they still started processing your application without creating a file?

Hi, I am sure this is not really the correct thread for this but I did not feel like I needed to start a new one. I just sent off my application for renewal on Friday, it was received today so now begins the long wait!
My old card had expired and I thought I had read somewhere that I needed to send it in with my application, but now I think I read something wrong or didn't read properly as I guess I should have just taken a copy and sent that instead (and kept the expired card). Do you think this will pose an issue with my application for renewal? Are they likely to send the application back because of this? I have been out of the country for a total of 44 days in 5 years so I am hoping for a smooth (but lengthy) process.
Thanks so much!
