You can ask for the file number when you call them. They still verify your full name, address, place of birth etc every time you call them.

Yea, it took me 190-ish calls to get through to them yesterday. Unfortunately just have to set some time aside to do it. Definitely frustrating. There were only 60 or so ahead of me (at about 4pm PST) which took about 45 minutes.

I would say on the 10th business day. so if today is 11 business days then you would call back on Monday May 9th. That's how I understand it anyway.

There is no timeline for this, it's pretty random (ie, having your credit card charged doesn't automatically mean you will receive your passport shortly after). From what others are saying it's taking about eight weeks to get a passport right now, though I am in my ninth and nothing.

The earliest you can call for a transfer is 10 business days before you are meant to be travelling. It's the same number: 1 800 567 6868. There is a bit of a trick to getting through to talk to someone, see my previous post further up this page.

It seems like some people get theirs in the same envelope and others get them separately.

I’m going to call 10 business days before my travel date and get them to transfer my file to the local office. This is probably going to be your best course of action if you haven’t had any movement by then.
