Guys,

Finally i have sent my application today .Since its a long week end the courier guy will take it on Aug 6 2013 . Probably the application will reach on
8th or 9th Aug .

I have completed a total of 1111 days and have 11 days of travel to USA .So in total 1100 days of Physical presence in canada .

Here are few questions

1) What are the next steps of the process ?
2)At current rate since it will take 25 months as per CIC online status i am expecting something before 2016 year given i will not have RQ.
3)could someone post the status sequence like acknowledge ment letter ,inprocess etc etc with appropriate timelines,I am in vancouver .Kindly suggest !

I just noticed that feb 29 will not be counted (a leap year) . so it will be 1099 days .Also i have mentioned in application the same day trips which are five of them but gave the count as " zero" .Please suggest !!!

Hi pkakula,

I assume you need to ask those who submitted their applications in 2013. I have noticed the 2013 applications are faster in process then those of us submitted in 2012.

But just to give an insight of mine:
Application submitted May 2012
Acknowledgment received July 3rd 2012 with a study book.
In process from January ! Was told my file was transferred to Scarborough office in April!!!!
I was also told that I will hear about my test invite before august 2014 :) So in total 16 months from the time of submission and waiting is going on! not complaining just giving you my timeline :) I still have 9 months :D

Good luck with you application!

What does the residence calculator tell you? 1099 or 1100 days?

total number of days between july 21 2010 and aug 05 2013 is 1111 . Excluding aug 05 2013.

In my application the days i have put the total days away as 11 .

But later noticed + 1 day leap year day that comes to 12 in total 1099.

But here are things that i have mentioned ,
I have mentioned my 5 days of same days travel and mentioned as "zero" .
Hope they will not calculate these as well this will make 1094.

Another thing i observed is that in days between nov 9 2011 -nov 11 2011 which i was away ,i mentioned it as 3 days which is actually 2 as per actual counting techniques .

So i am not sure what immigration will consider as 2 despite i mentioned 3 then i will have 1099+1 = 1100.

if they still count 5 days (same day visits) as well then i will have 1095 exactly.

the main reason i did not wait for anothe month is because i might change job and place where by i get new address ,i read in forum that if the current address is less than 3 months old then we might get RQ.

So i applied as soon as i met the required days.

One thing i would like to know is does the cic goes as per the days we mentioned or do they go by CBSA reports?please comment .

Yolka,

I would argue your 2012 submission timeline is better than current ones. I submitted my application in May this year and haven't received any acknowledgement. I understand acknowledgements for April applications are being received now.

Leap days are neither counted as a presence nor an absence. See Q5 in the Residence Calculator FAQ. Tried posting the link with no luck.

yeah, so far I am happy with my timeline. I saw few posts here from 2013 whose application is already in process in less then 8 months (can not remember who posted). Also some applicants from 2012 already took their tests and waiting for their oath.

Good luck with your application, I am sure you will get the acknowledgement very soon!

"in process" has lost its meaning, everybody's "in process" in 2-4 months these days. It doesn't mean such application will be processed faster than of those who had applied before.

Hey pkakula,

You and I are in the same boat. I sent in my application last week as well with over 1100 days of physical presence. My basic residence is even higher :D

And I too have listed the same day trips to USA in my residence calculator. Better to inform everything than not inform it since the residence calculator counts it as 0 days anyways.

And if you have used online calculator why are you bothered about Feb days as a leap or non leap. You don't have to worry. Just input the landing date, application date, list the absences and you should be good to go.

Lets see how fast we receive the acknowledgement. :p :p :p :p

Dear_pnp,

I have taken back my application from courier today. Just to make sure i have additional days .I will wait fro few more days before i can apply.I do not wanted to take any risk given that there are more RQ'S these days .

Thanks,
Pradeep.

I would not worry about residence calculator counting February 29 incorrectly. From what I have heard, it may only be an issue if you were away on that day. However, if you were in the country, please don't worry about it.

Also, it is obviously advisable to apply with more than completed 1095 days, but I have not seen anyone saying that applying on the 1096th day of your physical presence is an automatic RQ trigger. Furthermore, there are people on this forum who have reported applying with 1095 days and being OK. Obviously, if you can wait an extra week, it would not hurt.
