Seniors please help - Withdraw of application from VFS.

Hello,

Can we withdraw our application from VFS? I applied for my PRTD on 2nd Sep and I am yet to get my passport back. I need to travel to canada and if it takes a lot of time, I will fly to US and cross the border. Can anyone confirm if I can withdraw my application from VFS and if yes, in how many days do they return the passport.

If your passport has been submitted to the High Commission, I don't think your application can be withdrawn. I may be wrong about this, but I don't think VFS has any control on anything once the passport is submitted to the embassy.

If this is true, I am stuck without my passport till they take their sweet time to process my PRTD. I am a new PR (landed in Jun 2016) and if they are taking over month without any option to take the passport back then i am as good as screwed!

You have to withdraw directly with the High Commission.

Submit an application for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) by mail to the visa application centre (VAC) which serves the country and area you are visiting.

If your return flight to Canada is in less than six weeks and you are concerned with receiving the PRTD in time, please ensure to mark your application “Urgent” and provide your travel dates and flight itinerary when applying.

The PRTD is only valid for one (1) re-entry into Canada. Without a PR card or a PRTD, you will not be able to travel to Canada except by private vehicle.

I don't wanna give any false hope but if you or any known person which is connected to politics or at higher post, they can get your passport witching days
One of my friend's wife got her passport using same method.

I went to VFS today - we can put in the request to withdraw application and we will get our passport back in 2-3 days. Fees will not be returned.

Hi, how much time does it take to get our passports back from VFS Delhi or High commission if we withdraw our PRTD application? What reason one should state? What is the process? Please respond. Thank you.
