I'm new to the forum. I couldn't get a reply on another forum, and hoped I'd have some luck here. Here's my situation:
My husband sponsored his 19 yr old son from Sweden. Sent application in August, sponsorship accepted September, application in London began processing September 17th. Checked online status on October 27th and apparently decision made already. While I'm thrilled that the entire process took less than three months, the timing is kind of bad.
My stepson is currently here visiting us. He's going back to Sweden for a few weeks this coming Saturday. We cannot get a hold of his mother, so we don't know what the decision is, but I'm going to be optimisic and assume his application was accepted, and they now want his passport.
Our problem is, he's going back this Saturday. He's due to return on November 28th. If he sends his passport in once he gets back to Sweden, we doubt very much that he's receive his passport back by the time he needs it to return to Canada on the 28th.
If he indeed needs to send it it, would it look bad if he waited until returning to Canada to send it in? He doesn't want to cancel his trip back, because he wants to collect the rest of his stuff, and was looking forward to seeing his friends. However, if it will have a bad effect on his case to send the passport in a month after the request, then we'll just have to cancel his trip and send it from here now.
Does that make sense?
Thanks,
Karen
