Selkirk College bc, how good is collage?

@ mead: Bro I respect u as u r a senior member on this forum n I m benefited a lot information provided by you on this forum.but I wana rectify one thing.At one place you have shown Toronto link for jobs and another fsj jobs.we cant compare a small city fsj with such a big city Toronto.if we wana compare we need to put vancover instead of fsj.

exactly my point..small cities have their own set of problems not much different than big cities ......u should see the type of job in small or big cities.....just have any job is not what will help ......when consultant say there r a lot of jobs u should ask do those jobs work for an international student. so the point is ...is the course the right course for u? .....consultants present a rosy picture about jobs but they dont tell u what type of jobs.....there r lots of call center jobs does that mean u want them to be ur career? dont be fooled by consultants who say there r lots of jobs its a lie....or misguidance ...do u know that story if ur indian Narova Kunjarova ... human or elephant.

I checked fsj link. I know many jobs in Fort St. John. One of my father son studying there. My father saab speak with that friend son and he told about jobs and high salary. He is getting 18 dollar every hour.My first choice was Northern Lights Collage but I tried. Admissions close for January. I dont want wait for May. That is why I looking for Selkirk Collage.

check on job bank and see ur city for jobs listed its not a complete picture but is gives u an idea....i dont know if this is ur area..again dont base ur decision on city but base it on ur course ....i dont know what type of jobs ur looking for..u should not believe blindly.....i dont know if there r jobs in ur area or not .....it will depend on ur profile and lot of other things like soft skills, ur ability to connect, ur english speaking skills etc

Has your consultant actually spent considerable time living in Canada? If not, then he really has no basis for his opinions. What he has heard from others vs. reality are two completely different things.

Selkirk College has started a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting recently. Xaviers, you may have a look at it as it is very unique and most of its courses gives you credit transfer for CPA in Canada.

Thanks Ryan I am considering this option . can you please help me if you have any idea on job prospects after PGD in Accounting. as i read 2 years of job experience is required to sit for CPA exams. i am really concerned about this and after all selkirk is a college not university .

I connect with two students on Facebook.They are studying in Selkirk. Both said lots of jobs. And they said they will also help me. Both are from Punjab. I get confidence on Selkirk Collage. Job link also shows jobs in admin.

Punjabi bros, i met collage person in saminar in Patiala. plan to go this collage. tution fee is low. i have 6 bands ielts and 67% in bbs. pl suggest. i want to apply now as fast possible.

hey man, just wanted to ask what course would u take? PG certificate or Diploma? i mean 1 year or 2 year program?
im also starting to think about going to Canada. i have Lethbridge college & Saulte college in list as for now

relieved to know this as i am also interested in Selkirk. you should also those students about local job market for skilled positions which relate to your studies. mine is accounting related. it would be great if you had any info about it.

I am planning Post Graduate Diploma 2 years.This give me 3 years work permit. Fee is 4475 dollars per semester which is less than 18000 for 2 years program. Other colleges in Toronto and Vancouver cost 6500 per semester which is minimum 26000 for 2 years.

After searching I find Selkirk as a very good option.

Selkirk Collage is good choice for me.I will go to my agent this week. i write to collage direct and wait for reply. my agent told PG Diploma has got 4 months paid internship also.i connect with Selkirk facebook with two Punajbi bros. Both are happy and invited me to come and they help me also to get job.

I wrote them too. waiting for their reply..one point that upsets me is that castleger is quite a small place . Less than 10,000 people in 2007..it means it may have less competition in part time jobs but it will hardly have any good companies around..like Icompanies usually dnt open offices for a population of 10k..I am gona further check job market of castleger. It means .rest I found that place really good and interesting
