I talked to some students who are already in Castlegar ..one said getting a job is very tough there and wage rate is very very low..the other said it is easy if you are good in English...from whatever I have heard and read till now, I come to the point that its mostly upon luck...sometime...

i dnt have any specific comments because i did not check these colleges in detail. my desired course is in Selkirk so i focused on it. you may want to consider that most/all of Selkirk campuses are in small towns. off campus job availability may be a challange in those places. just adding my two...

you can check selkirk college. its offering business administration and accounting pg diplomas.

you know better if this diploma will increase your knowledge or be of any help for your career. if it is, then you will need to explain all this in your SOP. but give that you already have a post grad diploma, dnt go for a diploma because its visa chances are seriously low.

if i change my college after landing, how it would affect my visa? i mean, if i land for one year course but, change to a 2 years course then will i need to reapply for visa after the first year? given that i dnt leave Canada and be enrolled as a full time student.

see you must meet the minimum financial requirement as mentioned on CIC site and you have to maintain that requirement for 4 months. if you dnt do it, they might reject your application. dnt withdraw the amount untill VO made their decision. VO might check the account.

i dnt think so. however, i think it would be a plus that an American citizen is sponsoring you.

Given that Castlegar is a small place, I suspect if students get part time jobs easily. Do anyone know about it? are part time jobs easy to get in Castlegar?
