Hi. I am on the application process for self-employed immigration program. i heard many rumors but have no idea its true or not. First about processing time. Everyone telling a differant story. Pls someone actually applied to self employed program (specially after january 2015) can tell me when he/she arived to canada after application. where he/she applied from? I heard when fsw program turned to express entry it also made other application processing times quicker.

Also i heard rumors in 2016 Self employed program will turn to Express Entry like FSW program and it will make processing time shorter. So do you know its true or not? Should i wait january 2016 for faster processing times?

Thank you.

No one who applied January 2015 or later has had their application approved and arrived in Canada yet.

Thanks for the answer. also at cic they say ankara have 97 months processing time but philippines have 17 do you think it would help to go and apply from there?

The requirements are in the link below. No - online selling business from home does not qualify.

Thanks and yes I read it and it a pity they don't think about the online business which is growing everywhere and need to update their immigration scheme to allow this to occur providing you have a decent sized stock and investment figures. I sell Lego parts online and doing the research that if you have 1 million Lego parts it would valued more than $120,000 and the market for Lego are growing very well and in huge demand. With a $120,000 worth in stock would be more than enough to live in Canada, buy a property with a mortgage or buy it outright and work from home without any overhead expenses like renting a shop, staff and etc.

It a wake up call for the Government to look into it and realized they would get a decent income tax returns.

1. As an aside, have you looked at the home prices in Canada?

Hi

1. As an aside, have you looked at the home prices in Canada?

I have as my uncle home in Toronto was nearly $400,000 on today prices and not a problem for me since having a house here at same price but in pound sterling so when I sell it and change to dollars would be nearly double on today exchange rates no problem to buy a property there and have some spare money to get a car, medical/life insurances which I am aware about those and rest to put in the savings. But is a big NO for anyone who want to move to the UK with their business investment and property prices would be cut by half when changing to Pound Sterling.

If you still want to immigrate - then you'll have to find a program you qualify under from the list here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

Again, the self-employed stream isn't an option for you. You don't qualify.

FYI - You can't buy anything in Toronto for $120,000.

I wanted to inquire that whether selling and marketing home made wooden work would considered as self employed work..

1. Yes if you were already a Permanent resident or Citizen in Canada, but you won't get a PR visa to do it.
