Good afternoon,
I am working in a construction company for a year.
Out of this year ( First 7 months they paid me straight check without withholding taxes, other 5 months till now I am working on a payroll. ).
So, technically first 7 months I've been self-employed ( I don't have incorporation ), but I did exactly same duties as now on a payroll.
By criterias from CIC and CRA - that first 7 months fall under Employer-Employee relationship. ( All factors, such as: Control, Tool and Equipment etc. pointing that I was employee ).
I know about Ruling from CRA, but that is last resort, because I don't wanna create trouble for employer and losing job.
In case, employer will give me letter that I worked full-time bla-bla-bla for a year; will it work for CIC?
What is my options? Because, technically I was employee.
Thank you!
