Thank you for getting back to me. Since it's a little unclear to me, I was wondering if the processing time on the IRCC website is for those who are about to apply through this program or for everyone who has already applied before?

Also, I was curious if there's anyone in this forum who had a similar experience when it comes to the 100% processing timeline with an additional wait on top. I would like to know how long people had to wait additionally.
Processing is for those who have applied and who are about to apply. So expect 54 months but if you get a response faster then you are fortunate. Not sure what you mean by deadline of December 29 as processing times fluctuate from week to week. There is no deadline.

Hi there,

I applied for the Self-Employed Person Program through my lawyer in July 2021 and it's been a long and bleak road that I'm taking. After two years, I finally got my permanent application number and the paperwork was connected to my IRCC account. By this I could track my application processing on a timeline. The green bar grew 1% in every 10 days and the estimated deadline was December 29, 2023. I can't explain to you how excited I was by that date. But no response were sent from IRCC, only a message like this:

'About 20% of our applications are more complex to process. They take us longer due to things like how easily we can verify information, how well and how quickly you answer our requests and whether the application is complete.'

I'm kinda losing my mind by now and I have no idea who to talk to and what to expect. I find this way of treating applicants unacceptable.
Hi,

I applied January 2021. Similar to you my application had an estimated completion date way back in July 2023, since then no update. It depends what visa office you've applied to but from what I can see in other threads here in this forum the minimum wait is around 3.5 years.

hi, when did you get your AOR?
It is very common to have exceeded the estimated time by IRCC, which is 29 months since submission and the same for everyone.
the actual processing time varies according to where you applied, which is affected by ircc regional policy, and how complicated your application is. more complicate cases will require more detailed verification and clarification and more information checking from other departments or even countries.

I can only tell you that it's taking Hong Kong office roughly 36 months to finalize SE2 cases at the fastest pace at the moment, average is about 3.5 - 4 months.

I got the AOR on July 26, 2023, and submitted a birth certificate as it was asked. As an applicant, I used to live in BC but my Quebec-based lawyer applied from his province... Do you know by any chance how much time would Canadian IRCC regional policy take?

it is where you put in the 0008 form in your application as your residential address determines which your local processing office is, not where or through who you submitted your application. if your residential address is in a country different than the one where you did your self employment, it will probably take longer time for your local processing office to verify some information with the office responsible for your self employment country. every application is unique, and ircc might send applications from one office to another due to internal policy, office workload or office temporary closure etc. A lot of things will affect the speed of the processing of our applications.

Hi
I asked the same question to my lawyer. He said processing time on IRCC website applies on everyone the ones who have applied already or want to apply.

We are going on 39 months and no answer yet. When we applied, the processing time was 20 months or so but most folks got it in about 12. So I would say the current processing times are for everyone, which is ridiculous.

Does anyone know if the implied status (or as it is now called maintained status) is an option for individuals who applied from Canada? Or is there anyone who has already tried to apply for it?

As far as I know, those who applied through the self-employed person program are not eligible for such an option but I might be wrong. So it's better to ask.

To my knowledge, a person is not eligible for implied status if they applied through federal self employed stream.
