Hello everyone,
I was wondering how much is too much supporting documents?
Our supporting documents are really adding up. A month ago it was 500 papers...I didn't count how many more papers we added since then, but from the looks of it it will be more than 1,000 papers (even more if we print out invoices from my husband's customers).
On one hand I'm thinking maybe it's best to send everything...it will make our case stronger.
On the other hand, I'm afraid the number of documents will overwhelm the officers.
Any thoughts? Thanks :)
I had the similar issues with supporting business related documents. It ended up to be as big as a booklet.

My take is that you may not need to send out everything as long as the self-employed status is pretty clear. If VO has any questions about your files, they can always ask for supplements and even talk to you in the interview.

Is anyone else here submitting everything all at once, at the beginning, including Biometrics? Our lawyer is having us do this all at once instead of waiting for them to ask for biometrics.

I don't know how you can be proactive with biometrics, typically IRCC initiates the request and then you go to a support center to get your hands electronically fingerprinted.

There's a biometrics company 20 minutes from our house. We follow the links to the FBI background check supplied by our Lawyer, the biometrics company gets our fingerprints and everything is submitted by them.

This is the company we are using: https://accuratebiometrics.com/
This is the link our lawyer sent us: https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all safe. We are going to apply for this program in November under 5241 NOC.
My question is a bit sensitive...
So I had a company between 2014-2016. Now it is under liquidation. May the officer seek in the internet, make an investigation on our company. Has he/she got access the foreign goverment / tax office inside page?
The reason about the liquidation is quiet simple nothing harmful, nothing against the law, just I don't wan to make the officer suspicious about me... I thing it won't look good. I can explain for him/her but if he/she doesn't ask, don't want to be rejected.
Thank you very much in advance, if anybody has information about it.
Take care

Hi I am new to this forum.

I am an architect/ interior designer and have owned my company for 15 years. I have some awards and have been working with some renowned clients. I would like to use the self-employed programme as interior designer falls under the cultural activity and hope I can fulfill the requirements.

But as far as I understand, interior designer in Canada should be certified/ registered. i.e. it is necessary to have certain education requirements ( or equivalent overseas education) AND experience under direct sponsor AND pass the exam. Does anyone have similar experience to share? Since I still work outside Canada and it's impossible to work and find the sponsor now.

And how should I justify in the application if i am still not yet a REGISTERED interior designer but my plan is to work as an self-employed interior designer in Canada?

Hi everyone,
did anyone make the IELTS exam and put it into the application? I know the program says that it is not required but our immigration agent wants to make it with us. Do you have experience about this? Did you make it? And with which result? our agent told us it is needs to be at least 6 band.
Thank you in advance

I was advised that if I wanted to pad our points, I could go ahead and take it (which would mean driving 6+ hours to a different state where it's actually being offered). But, we have enough points without it, so I'm going to not take it yet.

If your representative is suggesting you may need it, I'd do it.

Hello everyone!

I submitted my Self-employed application (Producer) in Jan 2020, and completed biometrics in March 2020.

I prepared the documentation all by myself. I did not hire any immigration lawyer.

Just waiting now. Timeline end is estimated to be Nov 2021.
Hi can you let me know if IELTS is a mandatory , my spouse is a pattern designer and works as a freelancer and get payments in cash and bank transfer is she eligible for this category
