Question, I have applied under self employed author. I also included my medical due to previous submission in Express entry that eventually was cancelled due to police certificate being expired. Question, would they accept it or ask me for another round of physicals? Also, can one have an Express entry account while also applying for self employed author? Thanks.

Hi!
You can be into the Express Entry pool as well as have applied for self employed, however, there are two things to note:
1- Make sure your Express Entry profile and experience, etc match to what you claimed when you applied for self employed. Meaning that if you said you were self employed for 2 years, your EE profile should also have that info. I know it may be obvious, but some people don’t do this and cic has the right to check any other info related to you on their files, including EE, so all must match.
2- If you eventually get an invitation to apply to permanent residency on Express Entry, you must withdraw your self employed application BEFORE going ahead with the EE application, at that point, I suggest you to evaluate at what stage your self employed application is at and then see if it’s really worth it to withdraw and then start a new application under EE.
As per medicals, note that they are usually valid for one year. So if when they get to the point of evaluating your medicals they are expired, they will ask you to do them again.

I gave interview in October. Second day, they sent me a pre arrival service letter and medical request. I passed the medical in November.

When they asked for an interview, they have specific concern. They never ask for interview for 'in general' reason. I could say, my interview was mainly about intent and ability, basic business plan and they were checking if I did enough research about market or not.
Visa officer is strict in behavior. no expression. They ask question in such a way so that if anyone is trying to fake it, person get caught up easily.
Visa officer go deeper in your past and pick up any topic and can ask anything about it. While VO is interviewing you, he can also search about you on internet simultaneously.

I had applied for my GCMS notes, and after the 30-day mandatory waiting period, received a notice that sought an extension of another 90 days. An excerpt from the notice says - "...
in accordance with the Access to Information Act, an extension of 90 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. This extension is due to a large number of records or necessitates a search through a
large number of records and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the government institution."
1) Has anyone else had a similar experience?
2) What exactly is meant by 'large number of records' here? Does it mean a large number of records pertaining to my case? Or does it mean a large volume of PR applications, a high workload?

I am still queueing for interview schedule since May 2019
It is normal now as they are overloaded with GCMS requests. I have experienced twice last year

With interview call, they might have sent you list of documents. I think, it will give you enough time to prepare all documents.
