Okay so 6 months passed since medical exam still nothing till now what should I do should I let my sponsors to reach out to the immigration minister or should I wait after the elections or should I file a mandamus case ? Please anyone could tell me of their experience

Mandamus only makes sense if your application has far exceeded normal processing time (meaning exceeded by years). Yours hasn't so IMO this will be a complete waste of time and money and they won't consider it.

Once the election is over, your sponsor can try reaching out to their MP. But again, it doesn't look like your processing time has exceeded standard processing times so not sure the MP will be able to help at all. But your sponsor can certainly ask.

Unless significantly over processing time and processing times experienced by others not just posted processing times (not guaranteed) then tough to justify mandamus and especially the expense related to mandamus. I would only personally file mandamus if you know you are likely to get a positive judgement. I would consult an immigration lawyer about whether mandamus this year is an effective strategy.
That's what will I do certainly at the end of this year if nothing happens

My file was submitted in 2023 so this is 2 years already my sponsor will ask his MPs and at the end of this year if no update arrives I will certainly file a mandamus case

2 years is not actually a long time for private sponsorship. I highly doubt you have grounds for mandamus anytime soon but best to consult with a lawyer. Sadly some lawyers will be willing to file one for the money so I would be very reluctant to hire a lawyer who agrees to file one even a year from now. Are you being sponsored by a group who has previous experience with private sponsorship?

Unfortunately we are the first people sponsored by our group I don't know if this has to do anything with the delay

It doesn't sound like your application is delayed based on the timeline you provided. Is that timeline for your portion of the application and your sponsor has already been approved?

Yes my sponsor was approved and we have the approval of my application 2 months after the submission

Think that your sponsor’s lack of experience with private sponsorship may have lead to unrealistic expectations for both you and them when it comes to processing times. You keep on mentioning delays but your applications processing time is very common. Private sponsorship is not a fast process. Had your sponsors been more experienced they may have given you more realistic expectations of how long this process may take.

But literally it says 29 months on the website since the time of submission which will end this year

Yes, that the estimated processing time for your part of the application. I'm understanding that you submitted your part of the application in 2023 and the sponsor was approved before that.

It will make sense to submit mandamus once you have significantly exceeded the 29 month (so sometime late next year if you don't yet have PR). It will make sense for your sponsor to contact their MP after the 29 months have passed. Good luck and hope you hear something soon.

Posted processing times are not guaranteed and sadly often seem inaccurate. Those undergoing private sponsorship and especially through the same office as you often provide the best estimate of actual processing times. As already pointed out it is unclear if the timeframe includes the sponsor approval process as well. Would add that if you were aware of posted processing times I’m not sure why you’ve been following up with IRCC so frequently for such a long time.

That's true but once OP his the 29 months of waiting they can at least have the sponsor check with the MP.

Of course but it appears that for at least the past 6 months if not longer OP and sometimes their sponsor have been reaching out to IRCC, the embassy and the MP monthly. The file also appears to be in Cairo so not sure how much extra information an MP will be able to provide if similar to posted processing times except it is being processed. I also would not be surprised if processing times have increased at that point so would monitor that before making contact. It’s a tough situation but I think an experienced sponsorship group may have warned OP that there will be long periods of time when nothing happens and that they can’t guarantee when they will actually end up in Canada. If the private sponsors are in communication with other sponsors they may have a better idea of what is going on in the world of private sponsorships and what processing times people may be experiencing and backlogs they may be aware of.

I always come back to the immigration target levels. I have concerns that there may be a need to rebalance these targets given how low the quotas are for protected people and their dependents and the volume of protected people and asylum claimants in Canada. The asylum/refugee and H&C math just doesn’t math so we’ll have to see what happens after the election.

My sponsor will contact his MP after the election and also will order GCMS notes to see what is going on

It doesn't make any sense to take this much time when everything is done and when the file has transferred to Cairo mid-march so I guess they are finalizing it or something
