I know that IRCC does security screen thru a third a party and that it beyond their control, it takes sometimes more than 6 months. I know someone who has completed his medical exams, interviews, biometrics all in May 2024, and still waiting Decision made. So, there is no fixed timeline for any immigration stream, every case could be different.
I just wanted to say, just be patient, your visa will be coming soon. Wishing you all the best.
Length of background check is an issue but so is waiting for IRCC to approve because they have a yearly quota and also attempt to slowly bring in refugees throughout the year in an attempt to not overwhelm the settlement infrastructure in Canada.

I am not sure the part they say medicals not reached Canada, for me that does not make sense at all since you can see medical instructions received in your ECAS. In terms of the decision status being pending, that could mean that the security clearance is still in progress.

I am assuming that you got your interview went well, signed the travel loan paper and got the medical instructions afterwards back in October. If so, just be patient, you should getting your visa soon. :)

Hello everyone I sent an email to the IRCC and they week ago as I usually do each month and the replies were always in process but now when they answered it was something different it was:
We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your file is currently located at the Canadian visa office in Cairo, Egypt.

Because of the specific nature of your enquiry, we invite you to contact them directly in order to:

Submit a withdrawal request, if applicable,
Report important changes,
Provide documents,
Obtain information regarding the status of your application, or
Enquire on an outcome to a request.
In order to contact this visa office, please fill out the IRCC Web form.

What does that mean does it mean that I'm now in the final stage or what will I be getting COPR soon or what ?

Likely means nothing but they changed their response because you keep emailing them and they want you to stop. They also have minimal control over your file and can’t give you an idea about processing. Your file is sitting in a queue in Egypt.

Wow that's disappointing but doesn't mean that my file finished the central processing and it's now in Egypt to be finalized?

It is but that doesn’t mean much in terms of timeline. All you can literally do is wait don’t think anyone is going to be willing to give you an approximate timeline.

There is no information to provide. You are in a queue and there is no firm timeline.

This isn’t really a mandamus issue because you are experiencing very typical processing and I don’t think your sponsors reaching out will make any difference. Unfortunately you may have been under the false impression that this is a fast process. It is likely purely a quota allocation issue and you have to wait your turn. There are backlogs across all systems like asylum seekers in Canada there are very long waits involved when nothing happens you are waiting for your turn.

Okay waiting till now I think we will do the mandamus if nothing happens till the end of the year because then my case will be exceeding the IRCC processing time that is listed on the canada.ca

Unless significantly over processing time and processing times experienced by others not just posted processing times (not guaranteed) then tough to justify mandamus and especially the expense related to mandamus. I would only personally file mandamus if you know you are likely to get a positive judgement. I would consult an immigration lawyer about whether mandamus this year is an effective strategy.
