seeking help to a simple question. IMM 5708

I am an Australian citizen with a working holiday permit due to expire april1st 2013. my common-law partner and i are currently in the process of putting our permanent residency application together. i was denied a new working holiday permit because of the application for PR so i am aware i can no longer work after april 1st. i want to switch my status to visitor after my work permit expires.

i have IMM 5708 in front of me and am confused about question 3 (which should be simple i know!)

it gives 3 options
1.extension of temporary resident status
2.restoration of temporary resident status as a visitor
3. initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit.

i am unsure which one to choose? all i want to do is be able to stay in Canada with my partner while our application is processed i dont care that i wont be able to work. I just need to send this off asap. please help, im sure you can all understand that after you look at a form too long your mind tends to over think it all and make it harder than it really is.

If you are submitting an inland application (Vegreville) Just send an open work permit application on the same envelope as your sponsorship. This will give you implied status till the first stage is done (approval in principle). Make sure Vegreville receives your application before your current status expires. This way in 6 months time you will have an open work permit while waiting for 2nd stage to be done. good luck!
