Hi,
I wrote to the Public Safety MP - Ralph Goodale - regarding my FSWO application and below is a reply. It's pretty much a gist of my gcms notes.
Dear Sonia - I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received June 9,
2017.
Standard processing time is 6 months.
This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame,
while 20% take longer.
Eligibility passed.
Criminality passed July 24, 2017 for both.
Your security checks were launched Oct 31, 2017 and your husband's were
launched Nov 7, 2017 - both remain in progress. They cannot be expedited and
timelines are not available.
Medicals are expired. New medicals will likely be requested upon completion
of security verifications.
My question is, how long do the security checks take? What is included in a security check? And are background and security checks the same thing? What is the longest security check you've known of??
