I just called the CIC call centre. The agent looked at my file and said not to worry about the letter and don't show up for the exam. She said that it's an automatic system that generates the letter. She said that it says here that younhave already completed the citizenship test stage and passed the exam.
You have received an official letter instructing you to attend at a certain time and place. What the agent on the phone told you might be completely true but you are in for a big mess if it isn't and you have no way to prove anything you were told on phone.

I wouldn't trust the call center. If I were you I will go to the local office as mentioned in the letter and resolve it with a CO directly. Also now you have a chance to ask them about your case if it has been reviewed or not.
+1, I agree. I would show up for the invite. Don't trust the call center

Just go to CIC location where the invitation is for on the date/time specified regardless the Call Center told you. You got nothing to loose; if its like they said over the phone, they will send you back home.
Good luck!

I went to the local CIC office today even though i confirmed three time through Call Centre that i don't have to appear for the exam as per the update on my file.

They didn't make me write the test again but instead had me wait in the waiting room, and then the Immigration office looked at my passport and file again. He said that he just has to verify one entry back in to Canada from US. They will contact CBSA and it shouldn't take more than 3-4 days. I can expect two things either a request for more infomation or an invitation for Oath Ceremony in 3-4 months. He did mention about my communication with the Call centre and asked me why i am still here so i said that i was confused and wanted to find out what's going on.

By the way i was RQ'd after my citizenship test in January because of shortfall in residency calculation due to an honest mistake.

Could you please elaborate why you were interviewed again and what mistake you made with the residency calculator?

I actually got the letter stating to appear for citizenship test again. I decided to go and check it out with the local Office about it instead of Call Center agent advising me that i don't have to appear as per the notes on my file (i responded to the notice via a letter after that they made that note on file).

You can see the details about my RQ below
