I am in a similar position... I hope you can advice me on what I should do;

I am from Norway but am residing in UK for last few years.. and for IEC it says you need to 'normally reside in norway' so when I emailed them they told me I can apply from UK as long as I am registered on fylke register (national population of norway) as she said they might check that;

My question is; do I need to go to norway and register myself and put my grandparents address on application.

Do you think this will work? Do they ask for proof residence? ..I will put on my application - citizen of norway but 'applying from UK...

gosh.. this is not the easiest process..

Also, will a 'police clearance from UK be enough as I have not lived in norway for a few years and on application I willput down 'applying from UK..(even though citizen of norway and applying on norwegian website which I think Sweden sorts out applicants)

Anyways, I want to get prepared whilst waiting for IEC 2013 to open.. no date as of yet..

That's what i never really understood myself because i was residing in the UK like yourself. Are you registered as "living" in Norway or are you just registered as being born there? Because I was just registered as being born in Denmark, and they didn't want to accept that. So i traveled back from Canada, to England THEN to Denmark just to register myself as living in Denmark at my granparents address.

I had to do it, but it is kind of a grey area for sure. I would probably go register myself in Norway at your grandparents address if you have the chance to do so!

Oh this process is easy, i am now a Canadian permanent resident applicant and that was very difficult haha.

If you are able to get a police clearance from Norway that was from before you moved to the UK and then one from the UK it should be good, but i would e-mail them in case you cannot get one from where you live.

It is just pure shenanigans getting all necessary information in for a simple IEC application but they want to make sure that you have a clean background and so on.

Hi, I'd like a follow up on this.

We applied for first UK IEC visa and activated it in Oct 2012. In Feb 2012 we were living in Canada but applying for second IEC visa. I cannot remember now if I put residency as UK or Canada. At that point we had only been in Canada for 4 months...help. Will they check on EE visa app? Will we be denied??? Misrepresentation?
