Agree with the post. It all comes down to the visa officer's discretion then..
Although in most cases (atleast for what I've experienced for Master's applicants) tuition + GIC is sufficient and their approval rates have been better compared to non-SDS.

Right, student direct stream was supposed to be a more efficient immigration scheme. just like many other pilot programs that then became permanent. which nowadays, in reality, all have a different kinds of problems. ( look at TRPR, SUV, GTS)

But there are tools and machines that use historical data and tell you where you stand, whether statistically, SDS has a higher chance or regular. college A or Uni B. and etcetera.

Hi everyone!!

Congrats to everyone getting their student visa acceptances- its really motivating to see that IRCC is on it and people are actually getting their visas on time!

Though i think most Indian students are still facing issues. I finished my biometrics on June 14th and have applied via Student Direct Stream...really hoping to get my visa by aug end latest as class start on Sept 06th!

Has anyone applied around the same time and is worried just like me? please tell me im not alone! :O
Almost same timeline.... SDS, applied on June 10, biometrics on June 14

Non - SDS are getting faster than SDS.

How much time Non-SDS taking? My agency told me their students getting visa in just 10 days including biometric times also with upfront medical and GiC paid with 80% tution fees paid. In my agency 3 people got visa in 10 days in Non SDS.
I also applied the same way in non-SDS on 30th June 2022....i paid 95% tution fees and GIC 10K CAD....6th july is my biometric appointment...any non-sds my brother.. please update your timeline if you got visa.

with upfront medical, GIC and 80%+ tuition fees paid, isn't that SDS automatically?

I don't think so...SDS means you need to pay 100% tution fees of first year..your payment receipt should match with exact full fees printed on your admission offer letter..

Non SDS are getting sooner- you should get by July end latest as per the trend for Non SDS but dont get your hopes up :( IRCC is being a pain!

its very mentally excruciating ... just think what I am suppose to do with my notice period. Till I don't get visa I cannot put my paper, and no company will let you go in a day if I get my visa last moment .. forget about skyrocketing plane fares at last moment!

Good to know that, but will it not label you as "not dependable" , just in case things go south!
