Hi Folks!
I am totaly screwed up this morning. I have applied for the pr in March and waiting for medical. But I found my ex-wife's husband working in the Canada high commision in delhi. Of course, relation was not ended very well. I don't know what he is doing there. My question is, can he do any thing wrong with my application? I have applied as a divorcee and did not hide any thing. Still I am worried. Please help me with your oppinion. Thank you in advance.

Your application is at CPC-Ottawa and your ex-wife's husband is in Canadian High Commission in Delhi. I don't see no reason to worry about.

Divorces are not uncommon. Important thing is you declared everything truthfully. If you applied under CEC, your application should technically be sent to & processed in Ottawa. Having said that, I found from experience that anything to do with immigration solely lies in the hands of the immigration officer processing your case.
I am assuming the person you are referring to works in an operational capacity in the Canadian embassy. If so, he doesn't have any discretionary power over any of the applications / documents. He only processes them.
The only way he could effect your application is by delaying sending your application.
If your case is rejected, you can always appeal and a different immigration officer will review your case. So, take it one day at a time and wait!!

What are you talking about ??

"The only way he could effect your application is by delaying sending your application": PA applied under CEC not FSW. All applications are sent to CIO and then it is transferred to Ottawa. New Delhi VO doesn't even come in picture.

Don't take it funny but what I see from here is he will do best for you (of course he will not have any sort of access to your case, but if in case) because he likes you to be very far from his family i.e. with your ex . So if you get PR you will almost living in Canada. I feel they feel good if you get PR. :P

Sorry if I misunderstood because I am not lawyer..hehehehe

I want to live far away from them too... :-\ (undecided)
Good thing is I declared my past.

Does any body knows, what is the role of the Delhi high commission in criminal check?

hey. I think you are confusing here..

Let me ask one question. You applied PR from India but you are application is processing by CPC-Ottawa team in Canada. right?

If yes, You should have submitted Indian PCC certificate along with application. right?

If yes, then I don't think they will again do criminal check unless the PCC that you submitted is expired before decision made.

Sorry for the confusion. But I am; or I should say; I was screwed up. :P

However, since I know, until I get through this PR thing. I won't be able to sleep sound. I was confident about my file but this thing made me little worried.
