Hello, I am currently helping my Father (principal applicant) to complete most of the application. We are a bit confused on this part.

On the checklist IMM 5771E (2024 Document Checklist for Parents and Grandparents) :

For section D, if the principal applicant or a dependant has not worked in the past 10 years (e.g., they are retired), they must provide details of
their personal history since the age of 18

On the Permanent Residence Portal for Schedule A - Section D:

The instruction states:

Provide the details of your personal history for the past 10 years, or since your 18th birthday if it was less than 10 years ago. Start with the most recent information. Under “Activity,” write your occupation or job title if you were working. If you were not working, provide information on what you were doing (for example, unemployed, studying, travelling, retired, in detention). If you were outside your country or territory of nationality, indicate your status in the country or territory you were in. Note: Please ensure that you do not leave any gaps in time

My Mom, part of the application too as dependant (spouse) have been a homemaker since 1989. Do we need to put in detail of her personal history since age of 18 (she's now 69 years old)? Or do we need to follow the format of providing the personal history for the past 10 years only?

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Thanks! Does that mean, ignore the portion on the checklist?

Thank you for your feedback. I saw @Ponga 's comment with the green highlighted "For the past 10 years". I was making a follow up question if the main source of truth then for the application steps is the one stated on the PR Portal steps for Schedule A since the checklist have an additional note that if the principal applicant or dependant has not work for more than 10 years to provide a detailed history starting from 18 years of age.

Then follow the checklist and add detail hisotry starting from 18 years of age.
