Hey all,

Just about to send the application from New Zealand and wondering about the police check and schedule A form. This might be a stupid question but, can we send them in the application package straight away instead of waiting for them to request it? Think I've seen a few people say they've sent them ahead of time with the whole application. Is this helpful or would it annoy them that we're sending it before they asked us to?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there

This is what I did. Colour copy of police cert and schedule a, at bottom of application. You'd need you scan it for the electronic upload anyway, so no extra work to print it out and include it. I only sent off application last week so can't say how it worked out. On the soreadsheets tracking applications on here lots of people include schedule a and medical even, if they have it.

I say go for the police clearance if you already have it but don't bother with the Schedule A. The Schedule A asks for your UCI number, which you won't get until after you submit an application, and you can easily submit the document electronically after linking your application online. Sure, fill out what you can for now, but don't bother sending it in yet. The police clearances can take a long time to receive, so you may as well send it if you already have it. If you don't have it, definitely begin the process of obtaining it as soon as possible, but don't delay sending in your application so you can submit the police clearance with it.

Hi there,

We applied inland, now we have to get PC in Quebec, Canada as both of husband who is Canadian and I have been living here more than 6 months. Can you please tell me which form I have to fill?

If you live in Canada:

The Canadian visa office will tell you if you need a Canadian criminal record check while your application is being processed. If the visa office asks you to complete a criminal record check, visit the RCMP website for instructions. You must bring:

  • A full electronic set of fingerprints on form C-216C taken by one of these accredited companies or police services
  • A complete application form (available on the RCMP website)
  • Reason for your request (eg. For immigration)
  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Sex
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number (and/or fax number and/or e-mail address)
  • Applicable fees

My wife and I applied outland, so I'm not sure what form you need to fill. You can try checking out inland application threads here for help.

Sweet, thanks Will_PA that was my main concern, I don't want to be sending anything in advance to them in case it creates more work or want things in a certain order/time. Figured it might save some processing time if they already have it and not have to wait after requesting it.
