@kryton sorry my friend if you found my reply rude, I was merely trying to get specific information and not something too generic which I was already aware of. I apologize if you felt that way!
Now with regards to my question, my relative is saying what if someone calls from the CIC before dispatching the PR card and I am not present in Canada? So its better to write an application in advance to the government and declare your intentions and inform them of your plans. -
this question has been already answered multiple times. The only obligation you have is to live in Canada 730 days within 5 years period. There is no point to inform government, they are not interested to track you once you PR. No one cares about your plans.
Now if this is not true, then why does everyone I speak to who lives in Canada and is either a PR or citizen out rightly rejects my idea that I can activate my PR on landing, and go back immediately and have no problem at all re-entering Canada after 2 years. Its very strange, feels like there must be something that we all are missing, or they are not well informed and relying on rumors, or its just plain scaremongering. or maybe times have changed and so have the rules over the past 5-10 years.
Requesting you all to dig a little deeper into this matter, and let everyone know
what kind of steps an applicant needs to take to ensure smooth transition to this process, and what are the mistakes or loopholes to avoid.
