Hi all,
Any idea why Scarborough office removed from the list of oath ceremony schedule.
It took 149 days from In Process to test and 70 days from DM, now Scarborough office is missing from the list wow!!
It’s so funny they have new judges yet Scarborough has no oath posted for August as yet hmm.

oh wow I just noticed that you got the oath!!!! congrats.... I guess i still have a long way to wait....
Thanks! Your invite should be around the corner too.

From what it looks like, the plan might be to consolidate all oath ceremonies at Mississauga. Or could be temporary, who knows.

Having it all in Mississauga permanently will not work as some of us are from the North East and we lack good east to west transportation system. It is ok for people who drive but it will be an ordeal for someone who relies on public transit and have to be in Mississauga at 9am coming from Uxbridge, Stouffville, Georgina etc. I hope they reconsider that seriously.

I have same issue. It took me 2.25 hrs just to get there for my test. While waiting for interview I noticed that they were check-in people in for ceremony till 9:45-9:50. Actually ceremony started around that time, and even on CIC website it says ceremony starts at 9:45. So, I think that 45 minutes is a buffer time. Not encouraging anyone to go late but just saying.

Agreed, it is inconvenient. But I also won't be surprised if this is permanent for the near future. Although significantly more expensive than public transport, Uber/cabs are still an option for those that don't drive. Atleast don't have to cross the border, like we had to for PR landing.

I'm located in Newmarket, and it will be a 1.5-2 hour drive to Mississauga in traffic. But given how long it's taking to get oath invites, I can't complain. I would've flown to another province for an early oath, if that that was in any way workable.

I understand the commute time and inconvenience for the ceremony, however keeping in mind this will be a once in a lifetime thing, do it once and its done, besides we now have the privilege to be Canadian Citizens, so what is a mere 1 or 2 or even 3 hrs of inconvenience. Just like someone else in this forum if they schedule me in Alberta, for example, and it cuts my wait time by say a couple of months I would take the next flight out...Don't get me wrong this is not desperation but rather getting this done once and for all. Hoping this make sense. Thanks

I do remember that and IRCC officer apologized for that and mentioned your Oath will be in Vancouver.

When I raised the issue of transportation I was wearing my professional 'hat'. As a social worker, I am aware of so many people in our communities that lack the means to financially do things that most people think are easy.

Yes they might have applied for citizenship and oath is a "one time" event, but when you have to make a decision on either to take uber to Mississauga for oath or to buy your medication......it can be tough for some.

Overall, I still pray that CIC consider those who cannot easily commute far and don't permanently remove oath from Scarborough.
It works the same for Brampton or Mississauga people coming to write their test in Scarborough.

As for me personally, I posted last week that I was willing to go to Manitoba for oath if it comes to it... That has not changed.

I don't think Scarborough will remove Oaths permanently.
As most of are aware, August is mostly a vacation month before school starts after labour day September...probably Scarborough Judges are on vacation....LOL ....hell...even my mechanic is on vacation returning last week of August.

As per what I have read in this forum, I'm basing my calculations on Oath ceremonies

Scarborough had: 3 Ceremonies per day twice weekly: approx people 50 to 60 per... say average 60 X 3per day X 2 per week X 4weeks = 1440 per month

Mississauga has : Ceremonies all weekdays sometimes twice per day approx people 100 and over so average 110 X 2 ceremonies per day X 3 days = 660 per week plus one ceremony 110 people X 2 days = 220 approx
660 + 220 = 880 people per week
880 people X 4 weeks = 3520 per month approx (could be less)

That's a hell LOT of paperwork processing for the staff.

These are my calculations and then, of course, I could be wrong, who knows.
