I am not sure which is the visa office for your friend. I can share my experience of sending passports to ADVO. If everything goes fine, it should take about ten days from sending to receiving back passport from Riyadh to Abu Dhabi. ADVO takes around three days for its internal processing while the other seven days are for shipment by Aramex courier. The good thing is that Aramex also delivers visa-stamped passports to the applicants on Saturdays.

So your friend can give the passport to the courier on the first day of his 29 day stay in Saudi (preferably a Sunday morning to get the passports on the way as soon as possible). Hopefully, he should get it back on the 11th day with visa stamped. Needless to say, the guy will be very nervous throughout.

Just thinking out loud:

1) he could request visa stamping in CHC Riyadh explaining his 30 day constrain requesting for expedited processing. This will remain a little risky option given the uncertainty about processing time required by CHC Riyadh.
2) he could request visa stamping in home country, take a leave from work and get visa stamped. This would be the safest option.

thanks Lawrence, this Riyadh option was not in our mind and also not aware if they stamp immigration visas here, never heard of anyone getting visas from Riyadh otherwise it would be the best bet.However will definitely try to work over Riyadh visa office option.
We thought over the option of even going on exit to home country, but unfortunately our home country is famous for very slow processing. Honestly speaking no one would like to break the pace of his process, and in his case it is already going pretty fast, so would never want to go for options which could unnecessary slow it down.

Even I am not aware of visa stamping in CHC Riyadh because immigration applications are not processed here. However, as your friend is in a unique situation, maybe he is lucky and the visa office can accommodate him by making an exception.

Why do you need it? Do they issue the driving license in Canada based on Saudi license?

I guess having a driving license history/extract makes the process of getting a full Canadian license faster. Based on other threads here, if we have over 24 months 'overseas' driving experience -we get the Ontario G2 Driving License. To claim the overseas driving experience, we must obtain a 'Letter of Authentication' from the country's Roads & Transport Authority, explaining our D/License.

you can get it from Traffic Police Center (north riyadh), on Tareeq Abubaker Street. They will give you a print out sheet in Arabic which has all your driving history in Saudia. It is adviseable to get it stamped as well which they barely do. Probably you are aware that it needs to be translated in Englishl from an office in Mississauga. If you need the address of that office let me know. Best of luck

good question, it is called " rukhsa bayanah". But if you PM me your email, I can send you complete Arabic statement (as an attachment), just show it to them and you are done inshAllah.
