First off, great work on this. Thank you for taking time to inform all of us here about Saskatchwan. You are of big help to all of us.

I am planning to settle in Saskatchewan (still waiting for PPR), Saskatoon to be specific. Could you please give me some insights about life in Saskatoon? I've heard that the place is booming - how is this beneficial to newly landed immigrants? Could you please tell me about how it is to live in Saskatoon?

On the negative side, I've also heard about high crime rate in the city. Could you elaborate on this and suggest which places are best to settle and what to avoid?

I hear that Saskatchewan and Manitoba is easier and that if i move there I can sponsor him easily. What do you guys think and how long do u think the process takes.

Or

Would you think it is to register him in a University in any of those province and then he can get the PR after that.

Or

Open a business there (my budget is about $10,000) and than sponsor him.


I am really confused and i don't know what to do, please help

Following are the details about programme .
Family Members


This category is for immigrant families living in Saskatchewan who want to help their skilled and educated family members come to work and live in the province.

Applicants must have a relative who has been living in Saskatchewan for at least one year. They must be willing to provide applicants with assistance during the immigration process and after they arrive in Saskatchewan. These relatives are called supporting family members.

For more information on the roles and responsibilities of supporting family members, see the Guide for Supporting Family Members in Saskatchewan.

Spouses or common-law partners are not eligible to apply under this category. They need to apply under the Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) Family Class.
Eligibility

To be considered for the SINP Family Members Category, you must:

1. Be between 18 - 49 years old.
2. Have a signed affidavit of support from one or more family members living in Saskatchewan (SINP-500-22).
3. Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one year in length and have a diploma, a certificate, or a degree.
4. Have at least one year of work experience in your field of education or training.
5. Have the English language ability either to do the job you have been offered by a Saskatchewan employer or to get a job in your field of education or training.
6. Have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer or intend to find full-time, permanent work in Saskatchewan and have enough money to live in the province for a short time without work after arrival ($10,000 for you and $2,000 for each accompanying family member). Please note that live-in caregivers jobs are not eligible under this category.

By the way, we just recently moved here in Saskatchewan (July 2011) but we were on work permit that time, we just got our passport request this month and still waiting for our passports back, my question is, in case we would like to sponsor my brother, will the one year stay in Saskatchewan counts since we moved in July 2011, meaning we can sponsor my brother in July 2012 or from the time that we will get our landed immigrant status? Also, can we sponsor my brother and my husband's brother at the same time?

i have few Qs...

1.is there any financial (funds) specific requirement for the supporting family member in Sask? i mean does supporting family member need to show specific amount of funds in his account?

2.If nominated person's post-secondary education is in English, then does he need to take IELTS exam? His degree is B.Com(Bchelor of commerce) in English medium.

3.Can a PR sponsor 2 relatives at the same time for Sask immigration?

4. Approximately how much times does it take to get nomination certificate frm Sask immigration?

5. After getting nomination cert, can the supporting family member move to Ontario for further training/studies in his field of education sepecifically post grad training for doctors which is 2 years?

NO...but he must be financially self-supporting (have not received financial support through the Saskatchewan Assistance Plan, Employment Insurance, or the Resettlement Assistance Program within the last six months

2.If nominated person's post-secondary education is in English, then does he need to take IELTS exam? His degree is B.Com(Bchelor of commerce) in English medium.No...but VO may ask any time for IELTS

3.Can a PR sponsor 2 relatives at the same time for Sask immigration?YES......if all the requirements have been met

4. Approximately how much times does it take to get nomination certificate frm Sask immigration? Depends case to case(aprox 4 to 18 months)

5. After getting nomination cert, can the supporting family member move to Ontario for further training/studies in his field of education sepecifically post grad training for doctors which is 2 years?You have to prove that Saskatchewan has been your principal residence

Hello Kanamen: You have been providing really useful info to the members. I have a number of questions, hopefully you can throw some light on these too.

Questions:

1. Suppose you immigrate to Saskatchewan under SINP Family Member category. And suppose after immigration you get a job offer from an employer in Ontario. Are you then allowed to move to Ontario without jeopardizing your PR status in Canada?


2. What are the legal restrictions or limitation, and requirements that are imposed by Saskatchewan Province in this regard, if any?


3. Will you be eligible to get Health Card from Ontario in such a case? And kids allowed to enroll in public school system in Ontario?
