No sh*t! Week four of waiting for permit started today and I am climbing walls. I need my study permit asap as school starts sept. My program doesn't have a winter start at all. Only fall. I'm panicking that I won't make it in time.rock_khan said:There is a ray of hope in the strike by Canadian foreign service officers after Ottawa agreed to the union's offer of binding arbitration.Just minutes before the union's noon deadline Tuesday, Treasury Board President Tony Clement took up the offer with undisclosed conditions attached.
The ball is now on the court of the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) whether it will agree to those conditions.
It's just been announced today that the London office and 14 others round the world are back on full strike until further notice. http://www.pafso.com/news_releases.php?newsID=159rock_khan said:Just to share with you all that i have received passport request today from London visa office so within next week will send my passport via courier service to get visa stamped on it !
All thanks to GOD without whose help or blessing it would not have been possible !
Effective Monday, in order to persuade the Government that binding arbitration remains the responsible way forward to resolve our dispute, PAFSO members will withdraw all services until further notice at Canada's fifteen largest visa processing centres abroad: Abu Dhabi, Ankara, Beijing, Cairo, Delhi/Chandigarh, Hong Kong, London, Manila, Mexico City, Moscow, Paris, Riyadh, Sao Paulo, and Shanghai.
Thank you Rock Khan, I really hope you are right. Where did you get the info from that work will still be done?rock_khan said:@ zrdoz : One thing is for sure that even during the strike all visa offices including LONDON visa office are fully active and working regularly and the example is my passport request sent yesterday to me,so we hope this PAFSO strike gets over soon but all i would say is that we all donot have to panic as CIC is really taking care of the applications and officers who are directly from Canadian foreign office are regularly working in visa offices.
Thank yourock_khan said:@ rosey1111 : My dear i just received passport request from LONDON on 26th July which means the visa office is working on daily basis even though some member are on strike !
WISH U GOOD LUCK.
Up until now PAFSO staff have been rotating their staff in each office which is why processing has been delayed but still happening. Starting monday (tomorrow), all PAFSO officers in all the 15 listed offices are taken out on a full strike. You are sending in your passport but don't expect it to be stamped and returned to you anytime soon, unless stamping is done by non-PAFSO employed people.rock_khan said:@ zrdoz : One thing is for sure that even during the strike all visa offices including LONDON visa office are fully active and working regularly and the example is my passport request sent yesterday to me,so we hope this PAFSO strike gets over soon but all i would say is that we all donot have to panic as CIC is really taking care of the applications and officers who are directly from Canadian foreign office are regularly working in visa offices.
