Hello everyone,
I recently applied for a common law sponsorship, July 22nd, 2015 (being processed Outland). I received an AOR on August 20th, however I am still waiting for SA.
I've called the CIC call centre three times in regards to this issue here are the results:
1. They were still processing applications received one day earlier than mine and agent told me the file was still in process.
2. I called again when my application date was one day after those being processed so the agent decided that because I was so close and they hadn't updated the website in a week, that she decided to escalate my application.
3. I called again to see if I could get an update on my file and was told that the processing center has up to 90 days to respond to the escalation and that all I can do is wait. He did however mention that it looked like my file was complete.
I think that it would be completely unfair if I had to an additional 90 days to process my file, which I believe is fairly standard (I.e, I'm a canadian citizen, I've never sponsored anyone before, no kids, no divorces, I have a really good job and I've never been on welfare, etc.)
This is causing me a lot of anxiety. Would some one have any recommendation on what I can do at this point? At the call centre, can they check my file further?
Thank you in advance for your help, it is much appreciated!!
