It takes forever at least for those of us that sent their application back in 2011. My understanding is that for new applicants the process is much smoother. CIC is saying it takes a maximum of 24 months new applicants but I believe it takes much less than that, so if you are lucky your whole process could be completed within 12 months.

My Application moved to St clair from Mississauga on 18-july-2014, since then no movement.
Ordered ATIP every Month.
Today wrote to my MP to express my frustration, they are going to check.
Not sure if MP can help, but lets try.

The 2 year period has not passed so CIC will most likely not give you more information unless you order the ATIP. For some of us it has been almost 40 months.... Contacting your MP does not help much either...I contacted my MPs office about 3 months ago and I was told that ordering the ATIP actually slows down your application which does not make any sense to me.

They asked for the following:

1. A copy of my current and old passports (all pages and in color).
2. Paystubs and/or ROEs (Records of Employment).
3. Leases
4. CRA Tax Assessments
5. A Letter explaining my previous status in the U.S (I had a work VISA).
6. CBSA Report by signing a form that allows them to request that information.
7. Health Claims history.

90% of the above were already submitted in the 1st RQ back in 2012 but I guess this time the file has been assigned to an officer.

90% of the same stuff for the same citizenship qualifying period?? ??? That is too much, I reckon.....
Why would they do that, ehh?? have they lost 1st RQ??

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi everyone,,,,
I have been away for so long but felt I could share something out there about my husbands time line ,,, we are still waiting and waiting and yet we didn't loose hope yet. hope we all pass this frustration once we receive oath invitations. knowing that we also contacted the MP to get some answers of why my husband received an RQ all they could say that it was just for security check ups.. which I believe they just hand it RQ's randomly. we contacted the MP again last year 3 months short from 36 months and they gave her the same answer as we got to wait until 36 months passed. I am happy that my husband and I applied separately, otherwise I would have been still waiting with him...

my husbands outline.....

1. Received our application for Canadian citizenship October 12, 2011/ sent us the book

2. Started processing the application on March 27, 2012.

3. Fingerprint letter on July 23, 2012.

4. May 29, 2013 citizen test passed 16/20 + RQ after the interview at Scarborough office

5. RQ sent by hand to Scarborough office July 18, 2013

6. File sent to St. Clair July 22nd, 2013

7. We sent you a letter on October 1, 2014. This letter i believe was just to buy them time it had no usefulness information, they just explained that the 36 month waiting was just as approximate waiting time

8. They requested 2nd fingerprint November 13, 2014

9. They sent us 2nd mini RQ November 10, 2014 they just requested colored copy of the passport and any travel documents .

10. They sent us final notice for fingerprint December 29, 2014 we had to reply with a copy of receipt for the fingerprint taken. Plus we had to contact RCMP to ask for reason of delay.

11. Yesterday January 28,2015 we called CIC at last they said everything is ok and the file was transferred back to Scarborough since the 20th of January and waiting for oath schedule.
et..
