i am sick of waiting for my oath letter….i took my test in MAY/2014 in scarborough and sent my PRE - RQ in march/2014..and so far NOTHING !!!!!!!! in October I called cic they said my file which was in scarborough was transferred to st clair. In november i sent them a letter asking what is the reason for the delay since they told me in the interview ( during the test) that once my file was reviewed and done in 6 months maximum i would be receiving the oath letter…..

but guess what? they never sent me a mail back to answer me ! i never requested ATIP to find out whats going on……is it worth it??

i applied for my citizenship in NOVEMBER/2012.

i am sick of waiting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so strange i dont know anyone here who took the test in MAY 2014………..anyone????????? any similar situation?

I would request ATIP to see what is going on with your file. Send another letter to Scarborough referring to the first one and if that wont help in a month or so, contact your MP. I personally have RQ and we just passed the test, officer told us that RQ's turn around these days is from 3 to 6 months, if I wont hear back from them I will do what I suggested to you now.
Good luck!

The best way is to send an inquiry through their website.
They usually respond in 3-4 weeks.
In my case they said my application is waiting for test
As of November 21
Can you please share a link where on website we can send them a message. Thank you.

As per CIC, the entire backlog will be wiped off this year. :o :P
Actually not this year, it says - "Recent changes to the Citizenship Act mean citizenship applications will take less time to process and the application backlog will be eliminated by 2015/16." So, by the end of next 2016 year :)))

Initially I thought that too, but look at the table in the middle of the page.

2014/15 246,702

For 2014/15, 246702 is the backlog. (as of november 2014)

Now look at the diagram above that.
In 2015/2016, it says: backlog eliminated/ just in time processing, which is the current year since november 2014 is in 2014/2015.

Correspond that to the Y axis. It's around 150,000, which means they have the capacity to process 150,000 applications without any delays in a given year. So currently 95,000 are in backlog.

Draw a straight line from the year divider on the X axis between 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. It will intersect the dotted blue line at the Y value of 246000, so that's where we are right now.

They have also increased the fee to 550 starting Jan 1 this year, which i hope will certainly reduce the number of applicants.

Makes sense. Let's hope that this plan will work out for all of us!
How do you feel, what is the reason behind your RQ?

Hi amazing 21,

order ATIP and also instead of sending letter, send a case specific inquiry through cic website. They ll reply to your case specific question via e-mail. This actually helps.

Today i got this email for my Case Specific Enquiry

Dear Client,

Please be advised that a review of your electronic record indicates that your residence questionnaire was received on June 6th, 2014. Your application is currently in the inventory awaiting a residence assessment. Once this assessment has been completed, you will be notified as to the next stage of the process.

In the meantime, if you are planning to travel outside Canada, you may wish to renew your Permanent Resident card.

Thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Citizenship and Immigration Canada | Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada
Government of Canada | Gouvernement du Canada

I think after July 1st 2015 everybody's application will be processed, as they will not be getting too many applications, due to increase in residency requirement.
