Sorry for the absence, we were travelling in Iceland for the past couple weeks.

I updated the spreadsheet.

A personal update - we sent in a copy of his passport, and according to the registered mail, they should have received in on September 2nd. Since then, nothing yet.

I will be moving back to Canada on Oct. 11th and my partner will follow on Nov. 27th. He has to stay later to finish working, but he has until the end of Dec. to land so it isn't an issue.

It doesn't really have anything to do with how long they expect to process your application. Countries with 24 month or more processing times, also have to do medicals that expire in 12 months. Then they have to wait until the VO office tells them to redo their medical.

Also regarding when you have to land in Canada... they will tell you when you have to land by, and it is important you land before that date. However, some couples that have been married or considered commonlaw for less than 2 years might have condition 51 on their CORP. That means that they have to live together for 2 years after they land or else theoretically their PR can be revoked. If you travel for work, that shouldn't be a problem. But if you are still "living" in Italy, that might be a problem.

Hello. Im wondering if any of you can shed some light into an email my wife received from the Rome VO today.
I sent my app to sponsor my wife back in end of May and its been in process since August 29th at the Rome VO. In the app package I included everything along with the medicals of course. Today she received an email asking for her medicals to be done and sent. She contacted the clinic and they told her they have sent the results back in April when we first did them. Would it be possible for them to have misplaced this document from the package?
She is now printing the result sheet again with the UMI number and also the letter they sent via email. She will mail it to them first thing in the morning.

Just wondering if something like this happened to any of you here.

I don't think that has happened to anyone on here, or at least they haven't shared it with the forum.

I would also send the email you received from Rome to the medical clinic, tell them they probably lost the results and ask them to send it again.

Yes. My wife is going to the clinic tomorrow because in the email they sent they have IMM1017 attached which needs to be signed by the physician. When she spoke with them on the phone today they assured her that the results have been sent to CIC since April. But its a good suggestion to push for them to be sent by the clinic again just in case.
I just find it a bit strange though to be honest. I included it in the application package so they should have received it.

Thank you for updating the spreadsheet. So happy you are back i have sent the pass too and they received it on 4th of September.me too i havent heard nothing till now...did you use a prepaid courier or you sent it by regular mail? Do you know how many days VO need in general to issue the visa & turn back your pass? i feel a little bit anxious ??? i have seen that in other cases people have received it within 7 working day :-X

I would honestly start getting ready to apply for jobs in Canada sooner rather than later. They seem to me working on people who sent their application basically in April. So I think you can assume everything will be done in 6-7 months from after you sent it.

It's being almost 2 years I'm applying for jobs but it seems like without the visa they don't even take you in consideration...and plus my job is very specific so u know it's not easy...I could get a transfer with the same company I'm working for but I would like to have a plan B in case it's not gonna work...

we are getting ready to send our application. My common law partner is Greek so it will be processed in Rome. We live together for the past year and been dating for year and a half. My question is, since I changed my marital status, do we have to wait for official CRA letter to confirm the status change or we could just send the online print out?

We have lease agreement, I added him on my work benefits and life insurance, stat. declaration of common law notarized, credit cards, caa cards, phone bill, his driver's licence showing same address ....our two friends and my kids (19 and 12) will write a letters confirming we are in relationship/live together. We also had a commitment ceremony on our anniversary of move in date and will show pictures of our family and friends celebrating. Will add other pictures as well taken over the year.

We communicate in English and will include text messages since we met to present. We only met each other parents/siblings through Skype. His visitor visa expires soon but hope to be able to extend. would like to apply inland but the waiting period is double the outland. Do we have enough or we missed something?

You can just send your online print out, there is no reason to wait for the official CRA letter. It sound to me that you have many proofs for you relationship. Apply outland, your partner is from visa exempt country and he can easily extend his visitor visa, he can do it online!

Unfortunately I don't have any news about the interview yet, when I got the gcms notes the VO recommended that I need an interview and this happened on July 7th but still nothing! 2 months and a half have passed and they haven't scheduled it yet I guess I have to wait longer
