Any updates from Bucharest VO?

Hello,

I am sponsoring my Jordanian wife as she is a June 2017 applicant. We have completed all necessary papers including schedule A and medical status pass as well. Her file has been forwarded to Bucharest for further processing. Any idea what will be done next and for how long this process will take to the end?

Anybody with good news from Bucharest?
Why are they so slow?

Check my signature for all details.

Why are they so slow though? they are responsible for Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and some applications from the middle east.

There is a group on whats app for applicants of BVO and no spousal sponsorship has been approved yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can please someone let me know after how long do we get the acknowledgement receipt after registering request for gcms notes and paying the fees. Thank you so much

Hi everyone,
I’m in the process of submitting my PR application in Ontario via common-law through my partner who is a Canadian citizen. I had a couple of questions about the background check and the birth certificate.
  1. Background check: I obtained one (cazier, in Romanian) from the Romanian consulate in Toronto. It’s in English. Is this good enough? The CIC website, under express entry, says, “Police certificates must be scanned copies of the original certificate(s) in colour. Certified true copies or unauthorized copies won’t be accepted and will result in your application being rejected.” This confused me. Do I need to proceed differently?
  2. Birth certificate: I’m unclear on what I need to get here, even after consulting the CIC website. I was going to get a notarized copy of the original birth certificate, done by a notary in Romania, then get a certified translator in Canada to do the translation. Is this what is required? There is also the option of having the consular services certify it, but then do I still need a translation?
Thank you so much for any input you might have.

Why are you looking at the instructions for express entry if you're applying spousal? Express entry is online application so the info about scanned copies may not apply. Start here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ponsorship/spouse-partner-children/apply.html

Then through here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ervices/application/medical-police/where.html

I believe from that page for Romania the Embassy document should be fine. If it's in English or French, no translation needed.

You will need a certified copy and translation. Don't know about Romania specifically, but most of Eastern Europe has a relatively simple system of getting notarised copy plus certified translation, the translators and notaries work together - ie. ask your notary in Romania to get a certified translation for you. If you can get someone to do that for you in Romania (either a friend or some company), that will likely be quicker and cheaper than getting it translated in Canada, even accounting for mailing time.
