Hello everyone, this is the first I've heard of this form. Thank you Betina for telling me about it.
I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar situation,
Does anyone know how I can find out how long it takes for them to contact the office in Bucharest, Romania? My spouse has a child from a previous relationship that they need to verify. She is not coming to Canada, but she is a minor so we were told that they would contact her from the Bucharest office and that was in December 2013 and we haven't heard anything yet.
Everything else seems to be complete. We started our application process back in September 2012.
If this isn't the best place to post this does anyone know where would be? Thanks in advance

We just received the letter saying that our file has been transferred to Bucharest. Yaaaay! So now I start counting 14 months? I am still amazed by these huge time periods. Cannot imagine my kids without their dad for 14 months

Has anyone had any luck when calling the Bucharest office? We tried calling and they say they DO NOT answer to any questions over the phone, just via fax or via Email.

And if so how long before you heard back?

I was informed from the CIC here in Canada that on Nov 29 they sent a request to Bucharest for them to get in touch with my Spouses Minor Daughter for info, but her mom says she hasn't heard anything yet. I am wondering how long it takes of if the Bucharest office has even attempted to get in touch with her yet, or if they got the request from Vegreville as it states on our file.

Any help on finding out how to get info would be greatly appreciated.

AndieRocks - Yaaaaaaaaay! Not for the 14 months, but for the SA And you might not have to wait 14 months. The last statistics show that, in Bucharest, 50% of all PR requests for spouses are processed in less than 9 months.

It's common knowledge that the embassies don't give out information through the phone
I got an answer through email in 8 days.

i also have a question .. did anyone try to obtain a visitor visa while being in process with your PR application? did anyone succeed?
i only read bad stories about it, but maybe because we're from an european country we have more chances of getting it?

i want to visit my husband in Canada next summer but until now, based on what i read, i shouldn't get my hopes up ..
any opinions?

It doesn't matter what continent you are from. If you don't have really strong ties with your country (properties, businesses, children) and don't have a really long and clean travel history to Canada, you have little to no chances to get a TRV after applying for PR.

Even those that are from visa exempt countries can be turned around at the Canadian border.

This is what I got today from the London RMO:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. As the validity of your Immigration Medical Examination will soon expire, a reassessment of your file has been requested in order to determine the possibility of renewing its validity.

They want me to repeat only the x-ray, probably because I'm a smoker.

So the VO asked for my med exam's validity to be extended. So the only thing keeping them from issuing my visa is the fact that my meds expired in December. Yaaaaaaaaay :-D

It's been 7 months since my file is in Bucharest and we've had 2 additional set of documents requested in the meantime. So I guess they don't move as slow as I've thought :-D

LATER EDIT: It just occurred to me to check my e-Cas. I'm "In Process"! Yaaaaay!

Meds have been completed for dependent child that is in Bucharest and second sets of fingerprints have been submitted.
Wonder how long we will wait for passport request?
Seems like we are getting close to the end.
Sent application in September 2012, they started working on it Feb 2013...... It has been a crazy year, lots of ups and downs but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
