Any news from anyone?

So after two vague emails about our file with no timeline whatsoever, we've ordered another set of GCMS notes. At 5$ a piece, it's way better than checking ECAS everyday.

On a side note, we are now waiting for the extension of my wife's status in Canada as a visitor, since her study permit expires on September 28th.

Hello everyone!

Great news from us!!!

Last week on Thursday our ECAS changed to "In Process" and the following lines appeared:


2. We started processing your application on September 9, 2013.

3. Medical results have been received.

And this morning we woke up to find the long-awaited PPR in both of our email accounts!!!!!!

Now we have to scramble and get the passport couriered from Canada to Bucharest, but we feel greatly relieved that we are almost at the finish line. Additionally, we'll have our GCMS notes to come along within a few weeks as well

So it's been 198 days for us from when the application was received in Canada to PPR. Stay strong and keep your hopes up, good news will come for you any day now!

I was thinking of postponing our GCMS order for late october, but I think we will ask for them this month. I'm just waiting for the RPRF receipt to find its way to Mississauga. I'm kicking myself that we didn't pay the RPRF at the beginning :'(

It's a strange feeling. The joy has been replaced with worry (our passport is only valid for 6.5 months but they've requested a passport with a 12 month validity. However, the visa will expire before the passport does, so I hope this shouldn't be an issue) since even though it's usually the end of the process, the paranoia in me still bugs me, all the what ifs.

But it's different, that's for sure. Hope is now present

Thank you Betina and mmro! I really wish you a speedy process, our thoughts and hopes stay with you and your success. It's like a brother(sister)hood this process. The people around you support you, yet they have no clue of what you're going through; and I can fully understand the stress and anxiety you must be going through. Let's hope for the best and quickest.

I wouldn't stress too much about the RPRF, since you paid it before they asked you to, so there is not going to be a bring-forward date for that request, so fingers-crossed - no delays!

We have almost the same timeline, so that gave us hope we are getting closer to the finish line!!!!

I've jus sent a CSE to Bucharest informing them about paying the RPRF (we sent the receipt to CPC Miss, but thought to use the opportunity to write the VO ) I've asked them if I should make an appointment with the panel physician to redo my medical, seeing that in 6-7 weeks it will be 1 year since I did the first one. I guess I'm just hoping for them to say "we are asking for an extension on your med exam" ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Betina,

Yes, I hate that feeling when, like a child that wants something from their parents, takes the long way around to try to get what they need. I really wish it would be a stated fact that visa offices are not subject to fear from their clients to piss them off with a simple inquiry on their own files every once in a while. On the other end of this there are people that write 10 times a day for weeks in a row inquiring - that can be annoying.
Fear not, they will respond with please send us your passport, we've extended your medicals already!

We're still waiting for news about our visa, the embassy received the passport last Monday (September 23), but it doesn't look like they are in a rush to stamp it. We can wait, as long as nothing else goes wrong
