I think the "sunk cost" fallacy looms large on all these frenzied decisions to come back to Canada to either meet PR residency obligations, or, to find ways to get into the country after not meeting them. At this point, the benefits of returning to Canada are likely outweighed by the costs of doing so unless you have absolutely no other options.
To the OP, take the suggestions/warnings from "canuck78" and "deadinside" seriously.
Having spent roughly equal amounts of time in Canada and the US, I can honestly say that Canada is not the country it once was, and many of the advantages it once offered (health care, relatively affordable housing in relation to income, etc.) no longer exist.
