Hi,

I would like to know when is the right time to apply for the FSWP.
Because the new rules would take effect from 4th May 2013.So do I need to submit my forms after 4th May 2013.Or is there anything that I can do to save time like submit for assessment that does not require rules.I have already gone thru the IELTS and my score qualifies.

Just wanted to ensure what this website says...

http://www.visassimply.com/canadian-visas/federal-skill-worker-visa

Although the program starts from 4th May, its recommend that you should start your visa process now as you need to get your skills assessed by the relevant body which starts early 2013 and the assessment will take some time. So, in the best interest of the candidates, they should start preparing their application now.

Would like some suggestions that would save my time as I am all ready with the documents and IELTS score.

You cannot submit your application until May 4th or later.

You should start preparing your application now so that you can submit it on May 4th or as soon afterwards as possible since there will be very many applicants.

When you submit your application - you must meet all of the new assessment rules. Not all of the new rules have been announced yet so you will have to wait until they are before you can complete your application.

Thanks for the reply..So that means there is no way i could get my documents assessed just to save time if I want to be a part of applications which are submitted after 4th May 2013.

I don't understand your question.

Do you mean assessed by CIC before of May 4th? If so - then no, not possible.

HI,

Refer to the "document checklist" section of the following link to get an idea on the documents you can prepare before May 4th.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.asp

As for the assessment, YOu will need to get your educational credentials assessed by designated agencies before you can apply to FSW. Unfortunately, CIC has not given any such list of designated agencies so far. So you can do that only after CIC gives further announcements.

Hi all,

On 4th May 2013 intake for migration begins and I qualify under 3142 Physiotherapists section.

Although every document required for migration is available with me, I don't have the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) completed. University of Calicut has refused to hand over the attested marksheet to me. They have instead asked me to pay a fee to them and they would verify with their records to see if I have actually studied and cleared examinations from their university. Once that is done, they would attest the copies of my marksheets and certificates and send it over to the designated organisation themselves. This whole process is going to take more than 2 weeks. After which, the designated organisation, (WES in my case) will take their time to assess the documents and send it back to me. Which I count as a week approximately. Keeping all this in mind, I believe I will not be able to apply on 4th of May 2013 or for that matter, I don't think all this would be ready by the 10th of May 2013.

My question is (I think I already know that it depends on how many have applied for that post): How much delay in applying for this category in FSWP is considered acceptable?

Thanks in advance..
