Looks like the Checklist http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5443E.pdf is from January and the Guide http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289ETOC.asp was updated today.

Yes, but when you download the form, it shows a revision date of January 2013 at the lower left.

???

*edit*

Ok...that's weird. It was a Jan 2013 form about a few minutes ago!!

I am thinking somewhere in this application they have Brazil listed as a home address rather than a Canadian one. I say Brazil because this is apparently where they were married and where her hubby hails from. I think they probably added information into the application which would put it to an OUTLAND application. The only way anyone here could answer for sure why Vegreville sent it back would be if we could see all the details included, which I don't think they want to share.

My advice, would be to fill up a new application, ensure that it does not have a Brazillian address or chosen VO and then send it to the new address for processing in Missisauga.

Good point.

If your theory is correct, that means that they do a fairly thorough job of checking the application before issuing AOR.

I am under the understanding that these applications do get a pretty good once over before going into the 'ready for bathroom reading' pile.

Of course, they all have the validation button thingy if you do it on your computer, which will help to get a lot of that information into the system without too much close scrutiny.

Actually, only a couple have the validation button thingy, but I see your point.

Thank you all for input. In the end i found the wrong address (as a few suggested) in one space on the form. It was only after your suggestions here that I found it so thank you, thank you!! I'm so angry with myself after all my checking and rechecking with supporting documents, translations, notarization etc that a simple mistake like this was missed. At least we can fix it and move on.
