RETURN PASSPORTS LOST BY UPS....VISA EXPIRY SOON.....SENOIRS/QORAX...HELP

The visa office finally issue family visas. i contacted UPS to pick it for me which they did on the 2/10/12. but the passports cannot be found now. they are still carrying on investigation.
my issue is that my visa is only valid till 29/10/12.
I have forwarded certificates of lost passports to the VO.
WHAT WILL THE VISA OFFICE SAY OR DO...ANY SUGGESTION IS WELCOME.

Technically, the VO is supposed to ensure you have two months validity prior to landing. Assuming it is medicals that are the issue, they could require you submit new medicals or they could ask IMS to extend the medical results.

I've looked through the manuals for information on this issue and haven't found any clear guidance. I am sure they will work with you - this isn't a visa extension request, this is a failure to receive the visas.

I am very sorry you must suffer this - such a frustration. Hopefully, you can get this straightened out quickly.

It has actually relieve me from some sort of stress. I hope UPS finds the passports.
I have to be prepared now to redo my medicals and summit a new passport.
Do you guys know if the visa office will ask me to submit any more documents?

And again since my visa will soon expiry do you guys know when i should expect an e-mail from the VO

How can UPS Service be so irresponsible I don't understand, you must talk to them straightaway for the suffering they've caused !!!

Hi dear
Please relax and calm your nerves, good thing is that you have informed the visa office. You could send them a reminder to let them know UPS is yet to find your passport after which you rest your mind and await thier response. Ultimately you would get landing date extended if they don't find it before the original date.

Well, there's never a guarantee with immigration, but the VO may want you to submit something that indicates your passport was lost (e.g., something from UPS showing it was never delivered). The only other thing I could envision being a problem is if you have a PCC that is expiring, in which case they might insist you refresh that as well.

Again, hopefully UPS will find it. If they do find it and you don't have enough time to land on the visa, what you'll need to do is return the passport/visa and evidence of the date of receipt to the VO - the manuals do say that you have to have at least two months validity or they should extend the visa.

OP 1, Section 5.28:

5.28. Extending the validity of visas

The validity of a permanent resident visa may not be extended. Nor can replacement visas be
issued with a new validity date. If foreign nationals do not use their visas, they must make a new
application for a permanent residence visa.

They must also pay a new application processing fee. If they have paid a right of permanent
resident fee (RPRF), they do not need to pay it again. The RPRF may be collected only once.

Sometimes, due to factors beyond their control, applicants receive visas that are valid for less
than two months. If they cannot travel before their visas expire, officers should update whichever
requirement (e.g., medical) was used to set the visa validity. When a new validity date has been
obtained, a new visa will be issued.

(Emphasis added).

I love pieces like this in the processing manuals: "we won't do X - except in this one case..."!

You guys are fantastic.

My visa expires on the 29/12/12.
UPS tracking number is showing Lost package/Claim.
I have send to the VO the following documents.

UPS tracking number including the shipment progress. with that they can track it themselves if need be.
Police Certificate of lost passports.

Thank you guys so much for the support you guys are sharing in this forum.
Hopefully, the visa office might ask me to submit a new medical report and passport.

The whole process is pain....

sorry for the loss of your pp.UPS act stupidly but relax everything will be sorted out.you need to submit another pcc,renew your pssport provided UPS finally trace it.then visa office can re issue your visa.most importantly you need to be prayerful at this time...

Hi..really sorry for the loss...i can understand your situation....same situation happened with one of my friends...not only his stamped passports but educational certificates were lost by american embassy...but than deputy of consulate general called him to applogize and adviced that he has two situations either he files a case against american embassy or Consulate general will isssue a letter explaining the situation on letter head and his PPs and other documents would be processed quickly....in his case emabsssy called up where ever required and issued him letter too.....he soon he received his duplicate certificates and new PPs.....

i am sure courier service would track your parcel.......else VO would assist you in all circumstances.....
