How long does it take to restore your status as a worker?

Im oct 4 applicant, still waiting...

October applicant here too...also still waiting. Do you know how long it is SUPPOSED to take?

I applied November 18.
It says we have to wait as a regular work permit application + time for restoration..
For regular permit they are working on September 3(application received online) and September 29(paper).They are adding an additional 4-8 weeks for restoration..

Thanks for this information! May I ask where you got the info? I am inquiring for my boyfriend. He had to quit his job when he lost status for legal reasons obviously. So you have to restore your status as a worker does that mean you apply for work permit (new employer) or work permit (same employer) I am assuming new. So it says 108 Days, and they're working on October 8th applications. Does that mean its going to be 108 days from the time they start working on your application? So basically we have another 5+ months to wait? I have been searching everywhere for information.

There is another thread that follows this question.People called CIC and they say that restoration takes longer than work permits because they are processed in another department.

But CIC says restoration takes an extra up to 16 weeks on top of normal work permit waiting time.

I would count on four months minimum based on the processing times we are seeing here. So yes - 5+ months is realistic.

But is it 5 months after they even start processing your application, or 5 months from the time they receive your application?

Based on what i saw from other people it usualy takes around 5 months from the moment they received the application but some applications took longer to process.

Called my consultant today. He shared one of his client's timeline.

Restoration mailed out in the first week of Sept, rcvd hard copy yesterday.

applied on last oct 4, seems like it need to wait one more month...
