Hi Chad

I think we need to meet to discuss the method to approach out case

the agenda of the meeting will include:

1. we talk about our experience

2. we invite the media: papers, radio

3. we arrange to meet MPs

and other method to make our case known

My email address is: abdelaaziz90@gmail.com

we need members so that meeting with MP's can be arranged, i have seen ppl talking on forums, but very few are helping in tweets

I took the written test in May 2010 and received the RQ the same day before taking the test. The RQ and supporting docs were received by CIC in the first week of June 2010. We have been waiting since then. I have tried to follow up on the status of my file through my local MP without any success. Each time I was told that my file is " under process". It has been a year since I have been actively pursuing my local MP, but I have given up any hope of any positive result of my efforts.

The only update that I have received from CIC call centre was back in November 2012 when I was told my file has been transferred to St.Clair CIC office from Mississauga CIC office, which in turn means that it will take another 6 months or so for the file to be looked at by an officer and probably another couple of years before the officer decides upon the case. The only update I receive from the call center is "it's under process and I need to wait patiently". I have been in Canada since April 2006 without exiting the country for even a single day. I'm planning to renew our PR cards to take a much needed vacation. It's absolutely very frustrating experience!! I wish there was a way to speed up the entire process.

We are in the same boat Maveri k2206, seems we are veterans here. I submitted my appl in June 2009 and since 2010 I am in RQ mood. Same crappy office Missi and same my file in Nov was trasnfered to St Clair. I have a strong feeling they are trying to hide the dirt under the carpet and move the hot potato to other center. Wonder...after another 2 years of waiting they will move our files to Scarbo or Kingston  . My MP is Brad Butt, I don't think worth to spend time and visit MP, is consrvative. A class action is probably the only way to push things faster

Hey guys. I share your frustration. Here is my story:

I have been in Canada for 12 years and have completed my bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees in Canada during this time from the highest ranking university.. I was initially on a Student Status and became a PR in 2008. I did my citizenship test on November 2012 and was given the RQ. I have been a law-abiding tax-paying PR and have a spotless record (clean criminal record) and have met all the citizenship requirements. I submitted my RQ in December 2012. Having to wait for another 4 years is unreasonable; especially given that I have been in Canada since 2001 (I traveled outside for short trips here and there but it was all accounted for in my citizenship application), with an absolutely clean record.

It is unfair to be given this form and reflects badly on the citizenship system; I saw many people who could barely speak english on the citizenship test day and they were not given the RQ.

Can I take this to a lawyer who can present my case and expedite the process?

I do not understand why we have to fill this RQ form and show proof of stay in Canada when the CIC can just access the CBSA records (which I have given CIC the consent to contact them, in my Citizenship application). My travel history from CBSA should clearly show my duration of stay in Canada.

Wael55,

How do you know your RQ form was received by CIC ?. Is this in the online eCAS status or you called CIC ?. Do you know if received means, citizenship officer is reviewing it ?.

Thanks,
