The RQ and supporting docs were received by CIC in the first week of June 2010. We have been waiting since then. I have tried to follow up on the status of my file through my local MP without any success. Each time I was told that my file is " under process". It has been a year since I have been actively pursuing my local MP, but I have given up any hope of any positive result of my efforts.
The only update that I have received from CIC call centre was back in November 2012 when I was told my file has been transferred to St.Clair CIC office from Mississauga CIC office, which in turn means that it will take another 6 months or so for the file to be looked at by an officer and probably another couple of years before the officer decides upon the case. The only update I receive from the call center is "it's under process and I need to wait patiently". I have been in Canada since April 2006 without exiting the country for even a single day. I'm planning to renew our PR cards to take a much needed vacation. It's absolutely very frustrating experience!! I wish there was a way to speed up the entire process.
