Dear All:

I and My family has passed the medical examination. However, I received a letter from the visa office instructing to get Canadian Police Certifiate by sending my fringerprints to Royal Canadian Mounted Police as I studied in Vancouver, Canda in 1998 to 1999. It will take at 120 days or more the get the Certificate according to http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr-eng.htm. My questions are:

1)- Does any body has the same experience with me? Or know some body? and how long did it take to get the visa (in this situation)?

2)- Does it means that I have to wait until the visa office get the certificate from Royal Canadian Mounted Police then they issue me the visa? or can the visa office do the name check first?

Thanks in advace for your reply.

1. They have already done the name check and there is a person with a similar name and age in CPIC, that is why they are asking for your prints to confirm whether it is you or not.
2. They will not issue any visas until the RCMP criminal record check is complete.

Thanks PMM for your prompt reply. However, are you sure they have done the name check already? Baised on what? How about the place of birth? And if they have a doubt of the same name why did't the visa office ask me to send the fingerprints before the medical examination was done? And plus, the asked for RPRF already. I have sent the fee to them. It is so confusing..............on God may know the answer. !!!

Any way, thanks for your input.

I agreed with PMM:
Criminal check/background check can be done by CHC at ANY stage during the processing of your PR, they will NEVER issue the visa until all the checks are done. They have done their own check definitely, maybe something came up, maybe somebody with same name as yours, same date of birth, same address, etc has committed a crime, that is why they are asking you to submit police clearance from canada.

Dear All:

Finally, my Canadian Police Certificate is done and sent to visa office!!. So, the 120 days on the web site of CRMP could vary.

All the best,

Vesna

Hi boomshakala:

The Canadian Police Certificate was sent directly by RCMP to the visa office in Singapore.

All the best,
